My name is Luke Hubbard and I am a registered Traditional Chinese Medical Practitioner, Medical Scientist and a Registered Member of AACMA, ATMS and CMRB. My education has spanned over a decade of full time intensive study to complete Applied Science degree programs including Western Medical Science in addition to a one year Medical Internship in China.
My TCM study was completed at RMIT University in Melbourne. RMIT is the only dual-degree program in Chinese medicine in Australia which emphasizes the integrated approach of Western and Chinese medicine, Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine. Completing a Western Medical Science Degree with majors in anatomy and physiology has enabled a concrete understanding of the disease process important in any form of health care practice. The degree also incorporated Western Medical diagnosis to enable an understanding of laboratory pathology, radiology, neurology and traumatic injury etc.
My medical internship was undertaken at Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, China. During the medicine internship I completed rotations in the departments of Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Traumatology, Dermatology, Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology, Respiratory Medicine and Acupuncture.
