What is Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a subtle yet powerful complimentary therapy that helps treat a large number of health conditions. Its aim is to treat the body holistically, that is treating the body as a whole entity, considering all aspects of a persons health and finding the root cause of disease. By working in this way, acupuncture treats the symptoms but also addresses underlying problems such as sleep, energy, digestion and stress. This is why patients often say, “yes the pain has reduced but I have also noticed I am sleeping better and have more energy”.
The way in which acupuncture treats a patient may seem mysterious or strange to some but with 5000 years history and validating research completed each year it cannot be ignored.
Acupuncture moves blockages in your energy or “Qi”.
By inserting very fine, sterile needles into specific points over the body.
- These points are located along channels or meridians.
- This helps increase blood circulation.
- Ease tight muscles .
- Reduce inflammation and ease pain.
- Help with relaxation.
What is Chinese Herbal Medicine?
Chinese herbal medicine has been used in China for over 2500 years. It is the use of herbs derived from plants and minerals (Haeley does not use or endorse the use of animal products) taken as teas, tinc-tures, pills and powders for internal use, plus soaks, creams and plasters for external use.
Chinese herbs are rarely taken alone; in-stead your practitioner individually tailors a formula to specifically meet your needs. This way the herbs can work synergiscally and holistically to tackle many health conditions.
