What is Naturopathy?

Naturopathy is a safe and gentle way to restore your health so that you can experience wellness and vitality. I treat the whole person, with an emphasis on prevention and patient education. I use a range of natural medicines such as herbal medicine, nutritional supplements and flower essences to support and restore a healthy body, mind & spirit.

Simple naturopathic remedies can help correct underlying imbalances so that your symptoms resolve and you experience greater energy and optimum vitality. Experience the sense of empowerment that comes from managing your own health and achieving wellness.

Consultations

To determine the root cause of why you have become unwell, during a consultation I investigate many areas of your health including digestion, diet, immune function, stress response and lifestyle. A naturopathic consultation is a very thorough examination of your current and past state of health. The aim is to help you tap into your body’s natural healing ability to improve your health and increase your vitality.

Some of the conditions can Naturopathy Treat:

  • Female Reproductive and Menstrual Problems
  • Menopause
  • Lack of Energy
  • Stress
  • Skin Conditions
  • Cold & Flu
  • Digestive Complaints
  • Headaches and Migraines
  • Insomnia
  • Asthma & Hay fever
  • Immune Disorders
  • Arthritis.....
  • and more.

    Modalities:

    Herbal Medicine:

Plants have traditionally been the world’s major source of medicine and herbal medicine remains as one of the most respected of the ancient natural therapies. Even many modern pharmaceuticals are derived from plants. Herbs can be taken as teas, tinctures, or tablets. At Fairfield Naturopathy we use only high quality practitioner only herbal tinctures that are manufactured to the highest levels of quality assurance. Individual blends of herbs are made according to a patient’s condition. The beauty of this is that it enables me to compound a medicine that is specific to the person, resulting in very effective medicine.

    Nutritional Medicine

Research has shown that many of the chronic diseases that are on the rise in Australia can be linked to our processed Western diet. Vicki is trained in nutrition and gives practical, easy to follow dietary advice to help people navigate the sometimes confusing world of nutrition. The emphasis is not on following a particular diet, but on eating well. Eating for health.

There are instances where our diet does not supply us with all the nutrients we need for good health. Factors such as poor absorption, poor dietary choices and stress can greatly reduce our nutrient reserves. Supplements are often necessary to correct deficiencies while diets are being improved and also to provide a desired therapeutic outcome.

    Iridology

Iridology is the study of the iris (the coloured part of the eye) to determine potential health problems and inherited weaknesses. Iridology cannot detect a specific disease, but gives the practitioner valuable information regarding a person’s constitution.
