Head, Heart & Hands is a specialist parenting service providing effective, evidence-based programs, support and practical strategies for parents of children with challenging behaviours.
DOES YOUR CHILD HAVE CHALLENGING BEHAVIOUR?
A child with challenging behaviour might have difficulties with any of the following behaviours:
Physically aggressive behaviours such as hitting, punching, pushing, or any other violent behaviour
Verbally aggressive behaviours such as yelling, swearing, talking back, arguing, being rude
Whinging, whining, pouting, nagging or complaining
Demanding behaviour such as “I want it now”, stomping feet, slamming doors etc.
Lying
Stealing
Sibling rivalry
Interrupting
Ignoring instructions or requests
Unusual eating habits
Difficulties getting ready for bed, school, child care etc.
Difficulties getting to sleep
Temper tantrums

Head, Heart & Hands helps parents to recognise and understand the reasons behind their child's behaviour. A variety of evidence-based programs are available that meets the needs of all parents, children and their families. Head, Heart & Hands can advise which approach or program would best suit your situation when you make an appointment.
Head, Heart & Hands specialises in applying attachment theory, emotional intelligence theory, and neurobiological research to specific parenting strategies and techniques. Head, Heart & Hands teaches parents how to set limits, provide guidance, and manage the responsibilities and difficulties of daily life with their child, while at the same time communicating safety, playfulness, joy and love to their child. Providing a variety of programs, theories and approaches, Head, Heart & Hands caters for all parents, of all demographics, from all walks of life.
Head, Heart & Hands is run by Lucy Corrigan. Services are currently offered at the Kingston Beach Health Centre on Wednesdays and at 336 Elizabeth Street, North Hobart on Mondays and Tuesdays. Consultations are confidential and programs are tailored to suit the needs of the individual family. QUALIFICATION DETAILS Lucy Corrigan BSW MAASW (Acc.) is an accredited Social Worker with the Australian Association of Social Workers and is a licensed and trained practitioner for all the programs on offer at Head, Heart & Hands.
Lucy has extensive experience working with parents and children therapeutically and is an experienced group work facilitator. Lucy is a qualified Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) practitioner and is trained in Motivational Interviewing and Interpersonal Psychotherapy.
