I’m sure you can appreciate that the muscle system in the out-of balance body will be working very differently, with some muscles overworking and others doing very little, creating a more permanent deep seated imbalance that will cause a person to adopt a poor posture and often lead them to being in pain.
For this reason it is very important that the weight of gravity is distributed evenly through each side of the body and legs, with the pelvis sitting level and balanced and the spine straight. By having good posture along with a balanced pelvis you will minimise the negative affects of gravity and minimise stress and fatigue in the muscles.
SLM Bodywork works on the theory that pain comes from pressure that builds up around a joint, because muscle imbalances lead to their misalignment. When that pressure reaches a critical point, it causes restricted movement, inflammation and pain, or in the case of the spine, misalignment of the vertebrae that affects that discs and nerves.
The techniques in the SLM Bodywork are designed to diagnose and fix the critical imbalances, through restoring muscle tone and function to all parts of the body. This in turn realigns the skeleton and releases the pressure from the joints, allowing the pain and inflammation to disappear.
SLM Bodywork is the only therapy system that recognises this concept and has the techniques to quickly and effectively deal with it, returning a body to how is was designed to be with a balanced, healthy, functional muscle system. The physical benefits this gives to a person would be obvious.
