Hinteractive Physio
Welcome to Hinteractive Physio
Physiotherapy plays an integral part in the multi-disciplinary approach to the management of sports injuries. The aim of physiotherapy is to treat and fully rehabilitate the athlete post-injury, post-operatively, to prevent further injury and to return the athlete to sport in the shortest possible time. Sports physiotherapists are also trained to evaluate biomechanics, technique and muscle imbalances to prevent initial or future injury.
Cervical Headaches
There is current strong evidence which shows the effectiveness of physiotherapy intervention in the management of cervicogenic headache. It has been shown that a simple incorporation of manipulative and exercise therapy spanning over a 6 week period has the ability to reduce both the intensity and frequency of cervicogenic headache. The most important outcomes however are that these benefits are maintained in the long term and do not return once the treatment period has ceased. Physiotherapy treatment for cervicogenic headache will consist of postural assessment, sleeping posture assessment, muscle releases, joint mobilisation and manipulation, postural control exercises and sometimes strapping.
Lower Limb
Lower limb pain from sciatica is managed by addressing the cause of the pain. Treatment may include: manipulation, mobilisation technique, lumbar stability, myo-fascial release, McKenzie method (especially useful in disc prolapse), stabilising exercise, massage and soft tissue techniques, pain killers, education of the patient, advice on the best position to relieve extreme sciatica pain and rest.
Physiotherapy is also effective at treating lower limb pain due to surgery, arthritis, muscle imbalances and acute injury. Physiotherapists use a variety of techniqes to restore the function of the muscles and joints and minimise pain.
Women's Health
Women’s health encompasses a broad spectrum of issues that can be treated by physiotherapy. From pregnancy back pain to incontinence problems faced by older women, physiotherapy can help. 1 in 3 women who have had a baby wet themselves. This traumatic and at times life-changing problem can be avoided and often easily treated. Physiotherapists can assist with a program of exercises, muscle stimulation and education.
Post Surgical
Physiotherapy is an essential part of post surgical care for orthopeopdic procedures. Physiotherapy can speed up the recovery and outcome of surgery by assisting with mobilisation of the operated area, muscle re-training, gait re-education and strengthening.
