NATUROPATHIC HERBAL MEDICINE
I am a Naturopathic Herbalist, fortunate enough to be trained by Dorothy Hall in Classical Herbal Medicine - which emphasises treatment of the whole person and not the dis-ease.
Herbal Medicine incorporates a full evaluation of the client, following which small doses of Herbal Extracts, along with appropriate Bach Flower Remedies, or supplements are prescribed, along with any lifestyle / dietary recommendations ... to facilitate the healing process and nourish the body. In my practice, I try to offer a commensense approach to problems - not complicated / strict regimes that are impossible to stick to !
Herbal Medicine can help young and old alike - plus our furry friends. Cats and dogs respond very well to herbal medicine and Bach flower remedies. If you have any queries about this, please email me.
Pricing for herbal remedies are 25ml - $15, 50mL - $20 or 100mL - $35.
IRIDOLOGY
...is a diagnostic tool which is utilised during the Herbal Medicine consultation. This is non-invasive and involves examination of the client’s iris with a special camera. The iris signs seen can then be used to evaluate what body processes are creating disruptions to a client’s health and this information helps to ensure that the treatment given is absolutely tailored to the client’s individual needs. (An iridology assessment sheet is also given following consultation, in order that the client may better understand the signs seen in the iris at consultation).
BACH FLOWER REMEDIES
...are extracts from plants and flowers, having a healing effect on emotional imbalances, which can contribute to illnesses, disease or distress. Probably the most commonly known of these is Rescue Remedy, which is used for treatment of emotional / physical shocks. I tend to incorporate Bach Flower Remedies into my client’s individual herbal blends … or these can be supplied separately.
Pricing for Bach Flowers is 15mL for $10.
BOWEN THERAPY
...is a dynamic, remedial bodywork technique which is very gentle, relaxing and amazingly effective in treating a multitude of injuries / disorders, both acute and chronic including … Back pain, Sciatica, Knee / Ankle problems, Frozen shoulder Headaches, Tennis elbow, Respiratory problems, Digestive problems, Menstrual problems, Sports injuries, Stress and anxiety, Bunions, Hammer toe problems, Jaw problems. Fibromyalgia and Parkinsons disease - the list is endless …
Bowen is safe to use on anyone, from the newborn to the elderly – and is great for aches and pains of pregnancy too ! (I have a 'body / pregnancy cushion' available for Mums-to-be for utmost comfort during this treatment).
The treatment itself involves the application of a series of cross-fibre movements on the soft tissue of body, followed by 2-minute ‘waiting periods’ (during which I can incorporate Reiki, if desired). The Bowen ‘moves’ are light, gentle and very precise and there is no forceful manipulation. The precise location of the Bowen moves correlate with the latest research into the meridian energy system, acupoints and myofascial trigger point theory.
Bowen therapy not only assists the soft tissue to overcome problems, but due to its apparent influence on the body's energy and meridian systems, appears to have an effect on the body's organs and their functions.
Bowen Therapy can effectively assist the body to regain its natural range of movement and balance. It is a catalyst for the body to start the natural healing processes. Treatment times will vary, according to individual requirements.
Cost: $65 for 45 mins or $80 for 60 mins. (Please allow 60 mins for first treatment).
REIKI
… is a powerful yet simple, natural healing system, having originated in Japan in the early 1900’s. Treatments are fully clothed and during a Reiki session I may either work intuitively or will follow the regular Reiki treatment wherein my hands are placed over areas of the body relating to the 7 main Chakras. When Reiki flows, the client may feel a variety of sensations from heat, tingling, swirling etc but overall Reiki enables a feeling of wellbeing and inner strength - and activates the body’s own innate healing processes … it is both relaxing and re-energising and is a wonderful antidote for stress and tension. Crystal healing / Chakra balancing can also be included in your Reiki session, if required.
Reiki treatments can take anything from 15 mins to 60 mins and may be added on to other treatments if required.
I am a Reiki Master and also offer Healing Attunements. The Healing Attunement brings in high frequency healing energies which are more powerful and effective than those given during a regular Reiki treatment. When done before Aura clearing and a regular Reiki treatment, it will make the treatment more effective by opening the Aura and creating a more receptive state.
Cost varies according to time spent but as an indication - 30 mins - $35 or 45 mins - $50.
AROMATHERAPY FACIAL TREATMENT
...is a gentle massage of the muscles and skin of the face and neck with a blend of pure carrier and essential oils, followed by cleanse, masque, gentle exfoliation, tone and moisturise - using only natural botanical products - and sometimes fruit and veggies! (Whilst this masque is applied you can also enjoy a relaxing hand / foot massage or experience some Reiki / Crystal Healing – the choice is yours !!).
Cost $65 – allow ~60 mins for full facial treatment or $45 for 30 min mini facial.
SWISS REFLEX THERAPY
...uses the techniques of REFLEXOLOGY - which is the ancient art of stimulating the body's healing forces through the application of firm pressure, systematically to various parts of the feet … along with Aromatherapy – as essential oils can greatly enhance the effects of this treatment.
A treatment incorporates the following and can be modified to the amount of time you require:
~ Aromatherapy FOOTBATH - to release tensions and heaviness
~ An exfoliating FOOTSCRUB - to smooth the skin and leave your feet feeling tingly and soft**
~ A revitalizing FOOT MASSAGE and SWISS REFLEX THERAPY/REFLEXOLOGY – with a nourishing cream to replenish, hydrate and energize!
Cost $65 – allow ~45 mins.
... or try a complete 'SOLE REVIVAL... all the above, but including a replenishing foot masque, using french clay, dead sea mineral mud and pure essential oils - and you can experience Reiki while the foot masque is applied! (Allow an extra 15 mins for foot masque – during which time you can experience some Reiki … or just ‘chill’ – only $15 extra!!
EAR CANDLING
… is non invasive, completely painless – and extremely relaxing ! Can help reduce wax build up in the ears and to clear the head, calm the mind and soothe the ears ! Treatment consists of ear candling, optional Reiki, followed by a sublimely relaxing head massage, using refreshing peppermint oil over the scalp.
Cost: $50 – allow 60 mins, includes cost of candles.
GUIDED MEDITATION
...enables us to take a much needed respite that not only calms ours nerves, but fills our body and soul with strength and energy.
By calming the mental chatter of day-to-day thinking, you will hear the voice of your true self, patiently waiting to help you to a better life. Guided meditation is a modern form of meditation with relaxing stories, music and natural sounds, that unlocks this wonderful power within.
Guided Meditation may be taken as a stand alone treatment or why not add a 10-20 min guided meditation session in breathing and visualisation meditation to your next treatment! Relax your mind – and then your body !

AROMATHERAPEUTIC MASSAGE
…utilises precious essential oils, extracted from bark, leaves, blossoms, roots of plants, herbs and flowers. Essential oils have a very complex and subtle healing effect on the human body and mind and when combined with massage, they can reduce stress and anxiety, tension, burnout, aches and pains, colds and flu, PMT, headaches – the list of human ailments goes on !
I studied Aromatherapy with Shirley Price in the UK back in 1990, so I tend to incorporate this into as many of my treatments as I can ! However, the style of Aromatherapy massage I now practice is more of an 'integrative' massage (or 'Aroma-therapeutic Massage !) ... enabling full body re-balancing and incorporating such techniques as ... Swedish / Remedial Massage, as required, Swiss Reflex Therapy, Shiatsu and Lymphatic Drainage ... of course using pure essential oils, personally blended for your individual needs.
Cost varies according to time spent but as an indication - 30 mins - $45, 45 mins - $65, 60mins - $80 or 90 mins - $100.
DORN SPINAL THERAPY
...is a gentle spinal and joint treatment which does not involve spinal manipulation or cracking. Treatment includes correction of leg length, spinal re-alignment - by massaging deviated vertebrae back into their original position, utilising body dynamics - followed by (a very relaxing) spinal stretch massage, utilising Hypericum oil, silk paper and time to rest! Dorn Spinal Therapy can help headaches, migraines, earaches, back, neck, shoulder pain, sciatica, jaw problems, vertigo, hip / knee problems ...
Dorn Spinal Therapy is great value for money as rarely more than 3-4 treatments are necessary to get long to ever-lasting results.
Cost $100 – allow 90 mins for initial treatment and approx 60 mins thereafter.
PREGNANCY MASSAGE
…focuses on the special needs of the mum-to be, as her body progresses through the dramatic physical and emotional changes of the childbirth experience - pregnancy, birth, and post-partum. Massage can alleviate some of the common aches/ pains and ailments of pregnancy in addition to promoting relaxation, better sleep and increasing blood and lymphatic circulation … which can relieve the common complaint of swelling. Post-natally, massage provides support for the new mum with the physical and emotional strains of mothering.
Caring for mum-to be physically, emotionally, and spiritually is of utmost importance – it would be my honour for you to allow me to work with you during your pregnancy to facilitate a healthier and more comfortable pregnancy.
I use a specially designed 'body cushion' for pre (and post!) natal massage, which is extremely comfortable and supportive - and can be used in the first to second trimesters, following which a side-lying massage can be given until birth --- after which the cushion can be used again for your post natal massage!
Allow at least 90 mins for a full pregnancy massage - $100.
SEATED MASSAGE
…is a ‘ through-the-clothes’ massage to the back, shoulders, arms, head and neck, while seated. This treatment is similar to shiatsu but generally more vigorous and works a little deeper.
The massage takes place in an ergonomically designed chair in which the client sits facing forward, embraced by comfortable padding, which naturally stretches the back and helps to reduce muscle tension in the upper body. While not primarily a corrective treatment, it leaves the client with a greater sense of well-being - apart from relaxing muscles, increasing circulation and general tonification !
Cost: $20 for 15 mins, $25 for 20 mins or $35 for 30 mins – ‘in-clinic’ prices only.
