OUR UNIQUE METHOD

Our method is a combination of what I have experienced personally while healing my body (refer to About Tamika for my healing journey) and what I have learned academically. Included is holistic life coaching, counselling, clinical and spiritual hypnotherapy, energy psychology techniques, prenatal and perinatal psychology, whole food education to create an alkaline body and exercise. There is no one modality practiced as such and our coaching is not a “one size fits all” approach. Your program will be tailored to meet your individual needs.

Tamika has helped me grow and develop as a person unlike any other health professional has ever been able to and I have seen a few in my time! At 21 I was diagnosed with Bipolar affective disorder after many years of ups and downs and struggling with life in general. The diagnosis came as no shock as my Father and Grandmother also have what was formally known as “Manic Depression”, however I struggled with the fact that I may need to be on medication for the rest of my life.

After being off and on meds for 7 years, seeing a number of practitioners including psychiatrists, psychologists, GP’s, naturopaths, acupuncturists and kinesiologists and learning yoga and meditation I still needed medication to function and continue working. At 28 I fell pregnant and decided I wanted to take the final step to leading a balanced happy life, without medication. This is when I began seeing Tamika on a regular basis. I have never felt comfortable enough with any other practitioner to really open up, and deal with my underlying issues – Tamika helped me to do this. She made me feel secure, and understood me in a way no one ever has. By helping me to go to the source of my fears, anxieties and self image issues she helped me to let go of these things and move forward in my everyday life. One common theme that I have observed, during my years of coaching, is that we are all basically experiencing the same thing; learning to become our true self. I am interested in COACHING – What is the process?

1) Free Consult

This 30 minute consultation is done either over the phone/Skype or face to face. We get an opportunity to hear about your issue/challenge/problem to see whether or not we can help you. You get to meet us and see if you “click” with us and will feel comfortable working with us. Coaching is a very personal and intimate process and it is important you feel safe and comfortable with us. If we decide that we can help you and you wish to go ahead, the next step is a Detailed Personal History.

2) Detailed Personal History

During this 2 hour session, we may discuss any of the following depending on your situation:
Issue/problem/challenge/block
History
Lifestyle
Relevant relationships
Eating habits and your relationship to food
Exercise habits and your relationship to exercise
Your relationship with yourself
Values and priorities in life
Thoughts, beliefs and feelings about the specific issue
Your desired goal/s and outcomes of the coaching process

3) Subsequent Sessions (we may do any of the following depending on what your issue is)

Between 30-120 minutes long
Clear the emotional and psychological blocks using a number of techniques and methods
Create healthy eating or exercise plans
Create new strategies for eating/food/exercise
Set goals and create plans of action
Give you homework / action to complete at home to deepen the work we are doing

What if I live interstate?

I coach people from all around Australia and occasionally internationally. The phone or Skype allows me to connect with you no matter where you are. Because my method does not involve hands on or physical contact, you can achieve your goals with me over the phone just as easily as face to face. My Think Your Body Slim workshop is run around Australia so please refer to my website for dates and locations.



I had heard about Tamika from friends on the Gold Coast and was impressed with their views on her and thought it worthwhile contacting her even though I lived in Auckland, New Zealand. I was in a relationship that was emotionally draining and my partner and I were at odds with each other over many things like money, marriage etc. After speaking with Tamika about this I felt that it was worthwhile trying as I believed my relationship was worth saving. I spent a number of sessions with Tamika on SKYPE, around 1 hour each time and was amazed at the results. I felt more relaxed, not so stressed and had a clearer path of where I could make a difference. WHY was this method created?

During my days as a Personal Trainer many years ago, I observed many of my clients struggle with weight loss. Either they would eat well and exercise and still not lose weight, or they simply lacked motivation to stick to healthy eating or exercise plans despite knowing that if they followed them they would achieve great results.

These clients felt blocked and stuck. They had tried everything yet nothing was working for them. I knew the blocks were in their mind. After being diagnosed with Depression and Hashimoto’s Disease at this time, I set out to heal my body naturally. I came to understand how powerful our mind is in relation to our body and our behaviours. I learned about the mind-body connection through my study of leading-edge psychology based techniques and energy psychology methods. After years of dedicated study and personal application, I healed my body and transformed my life.

I experienced first-hand the power of my mind and its effect on my body and in my life. I created this workshop to share with the health and fitness industries the missing link between the mind and body.

Think Your Body Slim will enable you to achieve permanent results once and for all. Healthy eating and exercise and crucial for a healthy body but so is a healthy mind. We must address all three aspects to create a balanced, healthy and happy body.

HOW Does This Method Work?

This method works by helping you to change your mindset; to create healthy relationships with eating, food, exercise, your body, your weight and yourself; and also to clear the emotional baggage that is causing your body to hold onto unnecessary weight.

When the relationship with yourself is one that is nurturing and loving, your relationships to food and exercise naturally change; you will actually want to eat healthily rather than force yourself to. That in itself is a huge difference because it means that you are able to maintain the healthy habits long term rather than using willpower to get through a short period of time, only then to fall back into old unhealthy habits. There is no force needed with this method. Instead, the changes you are seeking in relation to food and exercise happen organically due to the new self-respect and love you find.

Your entire mindset changes. Many women mistakenly think that by losing weight they will find happiness. This is not necessarily true. I have found that once a woman is happy with herself despite what her body looks like and she has a high self-esteem about herself, she is more likely to take care of herself, and the weight will fall off. Inner happiness must come first. She is then less likely to feel guilt about food, depressed about her body or rely on something external such as body image or food to fulfil the void.

Think Your Body Slim WORKSHOP

This 2 day hands-on, personal and transformative event will provide you with the awareness of what is blocking your weight loss and education for life on permanent weight loss. I take a maximum of 16 participants so that we can begin clearing some of the psychological blocks in a small, private and open group setting. Emotional and deeper blocks however will need personal coaching sessions.

Think Your Body Slim COACHING

Coaching can be done from anywhere in the world. I can coach you face to face in the Gold Coast, Queensland or over the phone no matter where you are in the world.

Coaching will enable you to clear the deepest blocks in a private and safe environment. You may not even be aware of what your blocks are just that you find it hard to lose weight. The blocks will be revealed through our sessions and cleared. We then provide continual support, inspiration and guidance until you have achieved your weight loss goals and are well on your way to maintaining your weight and healthy habits for life (Refer to the coaching process above for more information).

What is the difference between you and a personal trainer?

A personal trainer or nutritionist will tell you to exercise and eat well respectively. You probably already know what to do but struggle to do so! I work with your mindset and relationships with food, exercise, your body and yourself while helping you clear the blocks to self-sabotaging behaviour and emotional fat. There is a big difference the two of us yet we compliment very well. Although I will encourage healthy eating and exercise, as these are imperative for a healthy weight and body, I work from the inside out.

Think Your Body Slim Success Stories

My name is Jackie Sullivan and I met Tamika at her weight loss course called Think Your Body Slim at our local gym when I was looking at ways to lose weight because everything else I had tried wasn’t working. She put an ad in the local paper and I was already working along those lines so it resonated with me. I went to her workshop which I found very positive. ABOUT Tamika Hilder

As a child and teenager Tamika suffered from various physical and emotional wellbeing challenges, including an underactive thyroid, bulimia, an exercise disorder, depression and Hashimoto’s disease. Knowing she was here to contribute to the world in some “big” way she found her calling to help others only after healing herself. Her commitment and drive to heal her body caused her to study various alternative therapies and healing modalities.

After 5 years of dedicated inward focus, time and attention, Tamika healed her body and transformed her life. She has worked in the fitness industry for 8 years and is qualified as a Personal Trainer, Pilates Instructor, Pre and Post Natal Pilates Instructor, Master Neuro Linguistic Practitioner, Life Coach, Hypnotherapist, Timeline therapist, PSYCH-K® facilitator, Hypnobirthing Childbirth educator and is an part-way through a PhD in Prenatal and Perinatal Psychology.
