Sports injury/Pain Relief
In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Pain is a result of a blockage in Blood, and/or Qi (energy) within the body.
Sports injuries are a result of an imbalance in a particular meridian system, and all meridians depend on one another for support. This is why our treatments are holistic by nature.
Acupuncture works by using single use needles in a prescribed pattern to restore balance within the meridians. Pain can be counteracted via this ability to move energy and blood throughout the body.
TCM works complementarily with Western medicines, pre and post operative is one example. The benefit of optimal health pre surgery and infection free post surgery with faster recovery including scar rehabilitation is a vital synergy.
Working with our internal energetic meridians, we can help you look healthier and more vibrant. This treatment offers far more than circulation, it offers you a chance to bring your body into balance and harmony.
Fertility / IVF Support
Acupuncture is a natural, drug free alternative for the treatment of gynecological and obstetric conditions.
With this ability to influence and balance the hormone levels, acupuncture has a wide and very important role in fertility issues including: pre menstrual tension, morning sickness, breach birth positions, restless fetal syndrome, inducing birth, and milk production in mothers. Fathers can also benefit with increased quality and quantity of sperm, and erection issues.
Acupuncture and herbs combine to give a balanced environment for reproduction to take place. By nourishing our kidney energy or Qi, we enable a healthy environment for reproduction to take place, and help minimize the risk of birthing related problems.
Chronic Fatigue
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome is real, it is not in your head. A series of pathogens attack the immune system leading to a breakdown from the physical level to the emotional & organ systems. This is why the symptoms are wide and varied in their nature. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the energetic pathways/meridians affected include the kidney, heart and spleen. The level that the pathogen is invading determines the symptoms of poor digestion and circulation (i.e. the food we eat is not being transformed appropriately into a usable energy source for the body. The heart is affected with symptoms of palpitations or irregular heart beats, inability to sleep/insomnia & any feelings of dizziness or light headedness. The combination of acupuncture & herbs is vital in balancing these meridians.
Joint Stress
Every form of physical activity encounters a degree of joint stress. Don’t stop exercising yet! It can be a good thing when well managed. Your skeleton has to be active to function and reduce osteoporosis, and your joints must soften the wear and tear. Acupuncture and massage help to maintain the balance, improving circulation to the joint, and therefore helping in a wider range of movement. Shoulder and Hip joint stress account for many debilitating injuries resulting in Cortisone injections and Hip replacements. There is an alternative if you are proactive in your rehabilitation. After all, surgery should be your last resort.
Migraines
This is a very common condition and must be taken very seriously. Some causes include: Emotional, Occupational, Poor eating habits, Hormonal, Physical trauma, Liver malfunction, Genetic, Weather, High blood sugar and Sinus complaints. Acupuncture helps re – harmonise the body’s imbalances. The regulation of the Liver meridian is often part of your holistic treatment, and regular treatment will lead to prevention of the headache/ migraine and better health.
Massage
Massage is a vital part of dealing with our busy modern lives. It has the ability to promote circulation, and move those abusive toxins that build up with city living. There is also the relaxation benefit which is re – harmonizing and balancing by nature
At the House of Healing, we believe in quick recovery, and on time service. Each treatment is individually tailored to your condition, and holistic in nature. We are open to all other therapies, and complement Western techniques whenever possible.
