You will be treated in a private treatment room and therefore your session will never overlap with another patient - we are here for you and give you our undivided attention. Clinical Pilates
If any of the following descriptions apply to you, you will most certainly benefit from our clinical Pilates program:
• Poor Posture
• History of back/neck pain
• Your work is mainly done seated eg. Desk, car etc ,
• You want to improve your sporting performance
• You have just had a baby
• History of abdominal or spinal surgery
• Want to improve daily functional capacity
Pilates is a method of exercise designed for conditioning and strengthening the muscles that support the spine, pelvis, shoulders and peripheral joints. It improves posture, promotes efficient pain free movement and reduces the risk of further dysfunction or injuries.
Clinical Pilates was developed by a physiotherapist based on a current scientific research and very often the exercises are modified to suit your specific needs.
Our clinical Pilates program is done either as a series of mat classes or one-on-one. In both cases, a physio conducts the program. You will get an individual thorough assessment to help you understand the cause of any problem area. The classes have a maximum of 6 people (allowing for individual attention) with the physio instructing and correcting your technique to ensure maximum benefit.
Our Pilates program will help you understand why 80% of the population suffers from back pain and how you can re educate your core muscles to protect your back and control pain. You will take control of your spine, regain confidence to move effectively again and be encouraged to gradually improve your performance in a safe and paced manner addressing weakness holistically with core strengthening exercises.
You will finally take control of your spinal health rather than letting control you.
Gait Scan
Our feet are the foundation and support for the rest of our body. Unfortunately, due to the hard and unnatural surfaces we walk on, an estimated 80% of the population suffers from imbalance of the feet which can cause a chain reaction of adjustments in your posture and walking mechanics. These changes can put stress on joints higher up in your body and lead to more serious problems.
To determine the best treatment for these problems you will undergo complete examination of your foot, including a gait analysis to observe the movement and stability of your legs and feet as you walk. From the result it will be determined the need for a prescription orthotics which are properly made and custom molded to the support requirements of your feet. They help restore the normal balance and alignment of your body by gently correcting foot abnormalities.
