Who Can Come To a Yoga Class?
Classes are open to anyone. Classes are designed so you can practice gently or strongly, responsive to your ability, your needs and how you are feeling at all times. Some classes are more suited to beginners and it can be best to begin with these classes to enter into the practice with ease.
Come along with an openness, a playfulness and compassion for yourself and your body. I hope you'll enjoy this approach to yoga. With patience, the practice deepens awareness and aliveness, strength and stamina, clarity and calmness.
What Happens During a Class?
All classes include a combination of: * Asanas - physical postures for the body's strength & flexibility * Pranayama - breathing practices for calming the mind * Meditation - deepen awareness, wisdom and compassion * Relaxation - deep rest for the body * Yoga for daily life - a dash of yoga philosophy * Health care - seasonal self care health tips

WHAT TO BRING?
Yoga mat, large towel, water, light comfortable clothes for ease.
In winter - warmer clothes, socks and warm cover.
Avoid eating 2 hours before a class. Ensure you are hydrated.
If you must eat, only have a very light snack.
* Doors open 15mins before sessions start for you to settle in.
* If you are late, you are still welcome, please enter quietly.
* If it's your first class, please arrive 15 minutes early.
* Please remove and leave your shoes in the foyer.
* Please turn your mobile phone off or to 'silent'.
* Please sign in for every class.
About Yoga Classes
In all classes you are guided to practice with care and respect for your body, avoiding force, pacing yourself. You will feel the body gently energised, the mind calming and tension sliding away.
BASICS / FOUNDATIONS: This class is for you if you're new, returning to yoga or recovering from illness. Classes provide a sound foundation in yoga's essentials. Enjoy the benefits!
HATHA BASICS: You are guided ... in yoga's essentials with options to deepen your practice. You will feel more supple, strong and relaxed and get a good night's sleep.
VINYASA FLOW: A flowing yoga practice, somewhat like a dance. A great way to end a day. The class is a little stronger. If you are beginning yoga, please be sure to pace yourself.
BACK / GENTLE: If you suffer with stiffness, discomfort, pain or you are recovering from illness this gentle floor and chair based session attends to your specific needs. Experience greater ease!
RESTORE, RELAX: Unwind and unravelling tension! Utilising your body's wisdom and various resting and releasing postures ... relax, rebalance, realign and rejuvenate body, heart and mind.
EASY VINYASA: A gently flowing outdoor practice responsive to how you are feeling. Closing with tending your individual needs. Enjoy this practice in nature and refresh for the weekend.
PRIVATE: Small Group / Individual: Sessions are available for those with difficulties or those who need or would like individualized care.
WORKSHOPS: Enjoy one of the regular specialty workshops: Yoga Basics, Pranayama & Meditation, Back Matters, Sleep Matters, Women's Matters and much more. (Details below.)
Yoga WorkshopsEnhancing cost effective, self care strategies. Workshops combine information and discussion providing you with specifically designed series of yoga postures, a range of self care tools and related information for your personal reference.
YOGA BASICS 4 BEGINNERS: 1-3pm Sat 11 Oct
You will learn yoga's fundamental principles for living ... basic yoga breathing ... keys to position your body, activate muscle groups, establish well aligned posture and move with awareness. There's opportunity to learn something of specific benefit to you and basic healthy lifestyle tips. The session closes with guided meditation and relaxation, calming the mind.
MEDITATION & PRANAYAMA: 1-3pm Sat 25 Oct
This introduction provides you with information and practical tools for a personal practice. You will experience the benefits for yourself. The session includes several guided breath practices and guided meditation.
YOGA & MEDITATION TO TEND STRESS: 1-3pm Sat 15 Nov
This session guides you to explore personal awareness of stress and identify effective personal strategies. You will learn to recognise your early warning signs, basic self care strategies to suit your needs and experience for yourself various tools to calm the mind, body and emotions.
YOGA TOOLS FOR HEADACHES: 1-3pm Sat 29 Nov
If you suffer from tension headaches or muscular tension in your neck and shoulders this guide to self care will empower you with effective skills to ease tension. The session includes acupressure, body work & various lifestyle tips. Enjoy the ease and freedom that comes with freedom from headaches.

Mindfulness, A path to emotional resilience Cultivating presence, awareness deepens, hearts awaken.
Our emotional resilience can be sorely challenged depending on the nature and number of stressors we face at any time. If you find it difficult to navigate life's challenges you may benefit from furthering your inner life skills to cultivate emotional resilience.
Why try this program?
This 8 session program supports and guides you to learn fundamental clear steps in the practice of mindfulness. Mindfulness is a purposeful quality of relaxed attention on your experience, moment to moment without judgement. You will be cultivating a state of impartial, open, deeply interested attentiveness to your experience as it is, in the moment.
The practice enables you to let go focusing in unhelpful ways on the past, the future, desires, fears and expectations, returning to focus on being with 'what is' in the present. This does not mean you stop reflecting and learning from the past or stop planning for the future, rather it enables an increasingly rich "present moment" awareness of your life.
What will you learn?
You will learn how to cultivate a deep attention, deepening awareness of how your mind is perceiving, thinking creating, generating feelings and responses to your day to day experience. With practice, you are increasingly able to remain calm and less identified with perceptions, opinions, expectations, likes and dislikes and less reactive.
You are also able to choose to be less identified with unhelpful patterns of thinking and you will be freer to respond to your values, to life, with greater wisdom and compassion.
How will you benefit?
Regular practice helps us wake up from automatic and habitual ways of thinking, reacting as well as unconscious fears. It is an effective way to get in touch with your wisdom and vitality for life, becoming present to the richness of each moment you are alive.
This program offers you inner life skills for going within, becoming 'present', enabling you to deepen self awareness. You will learn how to be with strong emotions and pain, without fear which can be barriers to being 'present'.
Deepening awareness of thoughts, you will cultivate consciousness, uncover insight, explore your values, find meaning, cultivating loving kindness, strengthening your skills and confidence for living.
