SERVICES

Welcome to Itb Healing
ITb offers a simple methodology that helps balance electrical, nutritional and emotional components of our being for better integration. It facilitates the access to CHI (life force) within the body, working with organs, beliefs and emotions to enhance authentic living and vital aliveness.

As a self help tool, ITb enhances proprioceptive “listening” and therefore self-awareness. It becomes, potentially, a daily attunement process.

As an adjunct to any body therapy, psychotherapy or movement practice, ITb offers a tactile-somatic component that is easily synthesised into any existing healing method. It’s healing potential is surprisingly effective, given the possibilities of light touch, intention and gentle movement.

As an intrapersonal tool, the touch, movement and expression experienced through ITb helps to deepen relationships with others, enabling intimacy and growth.

ITb Sessions

A therapist using ITb begins the session by talking and gathering information. The session then proceeds into movement or stillness with acupressure holding. The pressure of holding varies according to need. Muscle monitoring (kinesiology) enables the therapist to choose the most appropriate touch and movement to enable change in the system rather than using his/her own interpretation. Verbal interaction may or may not be included during the active session. An ITb therapist's intention is to hold the context of the journey toward health.

It is usual for a series of sessions to be undertaken, although single sessions are also of value.

Marguerite Wett

Marguerite Wetton, the originator of the system, began body work concurrent with studies in psychology, philosophy, religion and literature. Her initial work was in traditional, Steiner and Montessori paedagogic systems, using therapies with children during simultaneously. Marguerite operated pre-schools, using a blend of systems and therapies, training other teachers and setting up informal child caring in townships during the Apartheid years in South Africa. A magazine, The Child, was created to extend information to rural teachers prohibited from moving into cities by the South African government. Marguerite worked with play as a therapy extending the work Fred Donaldson brought to South Africa and developed her work with her backround in Anthroposophy and the creative paedagogy of Rudolf Steiner.

Through Anthroposophical medicine and homoeopathy, Marguerite was quickly able to extend to the recipients of her work, substances to enhance well being. Eurythmy was a constant movement practice, as was yoga, which she has been practicing for 35 years.

Massage, reflexology, Jin shin Juytsu, flower remedies, yoga therapy/ teaching were added to her work over time.

During the past 17 years, Marguerite has placed her methods within a kinesiology protocol, using muscle monitoring to find the optimal support mechanism to for the recipient.

Today, Somatic-tactile approaches, using yoga, touch, movement, counseling, nutrition, homoeopathy and gentle herbal treatment within a kinesiology protocol is how she works. She has a practice in sydney, but continues to work with people on 4 continents.
