Naturopathy has a Wholistic and preventative approach to health care - it aims to balance the body and mind so that illness is less likely to occur in the future. Naturopaths use a range of non-invasive techniques to achieve optimum health. Our Naturopathic practitioners work wholistically with our clients and have a deep understanding that illness occurs on many levels and so employ various modalities like:
- Nutrition is the most important starting point, healthy tissues and life's natural healing forces cannot work if the building blocks - our food is deficient. Dietary suggestions and supplements will be provided if needed.
- Herbal medicine It involves the medicinal use of plants to treat disease and enhance general health and well being. Some herbs have potent ingredients and should be treated with the same care and respect as pharmaceutical drugs.
- Massage - One of our most basic instincts to communication. It affects every system in the body in a positive manner, by regulating, enhancing and tonifying.
- Homoeopathy - Homoeopathy is a system of medicine based on natural and profound laws of cure, defined, developed and systemized by the German physician, Samuel Hahnemann. Its fundamental principal is that a substance which, in toxic doses produces symptoms in a healthy body can be effectively used in minute doses, to treat those symptoms in the sick. Homoeopathy treats the person by subtly dealing with the emotional and physical predispositions underlying disease.
- Iridology - A fascinating tool, used on the theory that the eyes offer a reliable representation of a persons well being. The fibres of the iris react and record in a predictable manner the state of the body's systems and organs.
- Psychotherapy and Counselling - mental and emotional problems and stress can interfere with the healing process. Counselling techniques may include lifestyle and stress management strategies.

About Us
Naturopathy is both a science and a philosophy of healing that is based on tradition that has been handed down thru generations. It dates back to Hippocrates with its early roots back in 400BC. Its based on the philosophy, where practitioners look at the body's natural ability to heal itself and work with the healing power of nature. Naturopathy is a form of medicine that is basically concerned with discovering and removing the root cause of disease, rather than suppressing or treating symptoms. Causes can be chemical (diet, drinking, breathing or eliminating), mechanical (spinal malalignment, muscular tension, stiff joints or bad posture) or psychological (stress, depression or other disorders).
Following the guidelines of treating the person rather than the disease by encourageing clients to make lifestyle and if necessary dietary changes to empower themselves and take responsibility for their own health. This is achieved by taking time to listen, observe and provide information/discussions with the client to gain a joint understanding as why the illness developed.
