As a mother, we tend to put our own health needs last and our family’s health needs first. This is a testament of just how much a mother’s care cannot be taken for granted.
If you can only manage to do one positive thing for your body, mind and soul a month, make that thing, MASSAGE!
Don’t think of Massage Therapy as a luxury, or an indulgence or pampering that should only be enjoyed on the rarest of occasions, think of Massage Therapy as therapeutic in every sense.
Physically, your body will benefit from a massage by treating the tired and aching muscles which are caused by everyday living, motherhood, work, excersise, even sleep (or lack thereof!)
Mentally, your mind is able to rest, and you have a moment to reflect and recharge, which is something that we rarely make time to do for ourselves.
Spiritually, giving you time to reconnect with yourself, is never time wasted and its importance is often overlooked.
When your body, mind and soul are all in sync with each other and working effectively, you will see, that even the toughest job in the world, MOTHERHOOD, is manageable and enjoyable! As a mother, you simply must take care of yourself! Your family depends on it!
Allow someone else to care for you for a change, come and visit us at Jacqui Iscaro - Massage Therapy located at Wellness on Wellington in Rowville and begin your journey of holistic health.
Happy Mother's Day!

Great for headache and migraine sufferers. The half hour is focused on your upper back and shoulders, followed by a pressure releasing neck massage to relieve the pain that can refer up into your head causing headaches. Also great for those suffering from stress and anxiety as this tends to add to the tension in the neck and shoulder areas. The session is concluded by a very soothing and nurturing head and face massage. (You may choose to have your arms massaged in lieu of a facial massage)
Extremely Focused on Extremities (Legs and arms)
Duration 30 minutes
Great for those with fluid retention, lower limb oedema, poor circulation and those who are pregnant or recovering from injury or surgery. Also great for women who wear high heals. What is Remedial Massage?
Remedial massage can help with chronic pain conditions, headaches, osteoarthritis, muscle and joint pain/injury, poor posture, RSI or overuse injuries and many more!
Remedial massage is also used to assist the body’s natural ability to heal itself, by highlighting areas of dysfunction so that you are aware and able to give it that extra attention. Homework is often suggested in order to obtain the full benefit from your remedial treatment, in the form of stretches and exercises. This will increase the chances of success from your treatment.
Techniques used include, but are not limited to:
- Trigger Point Therapy
- Neuromuscular techniques
- Muscle Energy techniques
Trigger Point Therapy
Trigger Points are muscular nodules or “knots” and are treated by the therapist applying direct pressure to the area in order to reduce pain and improve muscle function.
Neuromuscular Techniques
This is another form of treatment for trigger point activity, and uses stretching and compressing the muscle and the surrounding tissues to assist in the reduction of pain.
Muscle Energy Techniques
Incorporates therapist-controlled muscle stretches and contractions in order to reduce pain and improve range of motion.
What is a Swedish Relaxation Massage?
You do not need an excuse for a Swedish relaxation massage. The Swedish treatment is designed with you in mind! You communicate to your therapist what you want to achieve from your session, and your therapist will recommend a treatment plan to best suit your requirements.
Relaxation massage can assist in the treatment of stress, depression, anxiety, muscle and joint pain, chronic pain, headaches, fatigue (including chronic fatigue syndrome), insomnia and sleeping disorders, eating disorders, arthritis (osteo and rheumatoid), oedema and many more!
Techniques used, but are not limited to:
- Effleurage
- Petrissage
- Tapotement
- Vibrations
Effleurage
A gentle gliding technique used to encourage blood flow and circulation.
Petrissage
A deeper manipulation that involves kneading, squeezing and rolling the skin to relax the muscles and increase circulation.
Tapotement
These are percussive strokes in which the skin is patted or tapped, used to stimulate muscle contraction.
Vibrations
Used to encourage relaxation of the muscle tissue by applying force and shaking or rocking.
All massage treatments can be tailored to suit your individual needs and concerns. Your comfort and satisfaction with your treatment is our main focus, as is seeing you walk out of our clinic with a smile on your face, a spring in your step, and a renewed sense of health.
