Me and why I do what I do. A few words from ‘Jo’.
Delicious food, playing around in my kitchen, going for long runs, practicing yoga, lying on the beach, taking my supplements each day, being around my fabulous family and friends and drinking tea from my gorgeous tea cup my Aunty gave me are just a few of the things that make me tick, that make me bounce out of bed each morning and want to continue this great gift of life. The journey of discovering and learning about oneself is infinite. I have learnt so much already but I will never stop trying to better myself, inside and out. I want to do this not only for my own personal health but also for my family, friends and the people who I help.
Naturopathy gave me the insight on how to balance my life. You will find me in my kitchen whizzing up a ‘super smoothie’ breakfast concoction but you will also find me on occasions pouring myself a glass of wine and making sweet treats for my husband and I as we chill out on the couch after a run together.
I am not a kilojoule, calorie-counting fanatic, far from it. I believe in real, wholesome, fresh, organic, unprocessed, quality food and all of it. Food is much more than the nutrients it contains, it is a social connector, it is our culture, and it gives us great pleasure. My ambition is to teach you to find this balance, to help motivate you to change, to take control, embark on your health journey and transform yourself. I want you to become passionate like me. I want you to jump into the kitchen and whip up a quick and easy, healthy and delectable mid week meal for yourself and your family and to take a firm grasp of your own health and take it to the next level. Once you reach that, go again. You know you can.
Everyone is different, you will know when it is time for you to take this next step and embark on the journey but understand it may not be the same time as your best friend, your husband or the girl next door. When that urge comes though – go for it! You will never look back.

A few words from Karina
I really enjoy being able to give people natural and sustainable treatment options to get them better. I love naturopathy because I am determined to get to the bottom of the cause of illness, and not just treat the symptoms and send you on your way. It’s like a puzzle where I get to put all the pieces together, do the research and nut out what is really going on for you. That’s a rarity these days!
I get great pleasure from meeting everyone who comes to see me, hearing their stories and getting to know them. Whatever your concerns or goals are we will work together, and I will inspire you to make the best of your health and to feel your best.
Socialising with friends and family, cooking and sharing my delights are a big part of my life. Running for fitness, relaxation and endorphins is a must also to help me achieve ‘balance’. I want to help you achieve your right balance too.
My medicine cabinet is well stocked with various herbal and nutritional supplements to support body with what it needs from day to day. I’m often reading the latest blogs and info from various health experts, then trying different nutritional programs that fit with methodology that I see sense in. I’ve done lots of various detoxes and nutrition programs – so if I’m asking you to do it, then chances are I’ve tried it!

I have been thinking about the question that you asked me about the changes that I have seen since I have being coming to see you.
I feel a lot better than when I first walked in the door!!
My tummy is not constantly bloated or sore
There is a decrease in the frequency that I have to go to the toilet
The urgency to go has completely gone.
I don't feel as tired by the end of the day. (no 3:30itis)
I don't have cravings for either sweet or savory foods.
I generally feel better all over.
It was really hard at the start to change my diet, as I have never ever been on a diet before or had restrictions on what I could eat. For me, I had to get my head around the whole idea of a diet!
Going forward, I am going to make sure I eat less processed/packaged foods. The idea of convenience draws you in, but if you freeze fresh made food, you create a better convenience food. I have always frozen left over food for use later, but in the last few months I have actually been cooking a meal for the sole purpose to freeze as lunch or dinner options. Being organised is the key to eating healthier options!!
I also wanted to say thank you for helping me to feel better!! I do really appreciate all your help and thoughts. Thanks"
"It's no understatement to say that Johanna has changed my life! I'm now healthier and happier than I've ever been, and have learned an incredible amount about good health and nutrition. Jo's detailed advice and recommendations, as well as the support and counselling she's given me around behaviour changes has made an enormous impact and will last a lifetime. Through her passion, persistence and unwavering support, I feel like she's been on the journey with me, and has helped me unlock my true potential and inspired new directions in my life. Thank you thank you thank you!!"

"I’ve been working with Johanna since July 2009.
I can’t really remember now where it all started but I do know that I continue to find Johanna a vital part of my health and wellbeing journey. – Importantly, she has an uncanny knack for realising when I am ready to take the next step.
I recently commented to Johanna that there are things I am doing now I don’t think I could have contemplated without the last couple of years of work we have done together.
Johanna, thank you for listening, for caring and for being there for me."

"As a 36 year old I was starting to fret at thought of not being able to conceive again to have a second child. I had one gorgeous boy who was 18 months old and then faced three successive miscarriages that broke our hearts. I went and saw Jo who lovingly sat me down, had a chat, ran some little tests and gave me this knock-out juice to have twice a day for a few months.
Next month - pregnant with my now 16 month daughter. Thank you Jo for helping us complete the family unit!"
- Nicolette (private client)
"Thank you, Johanna, for your invaluable help on the Calliden Group stand at the Steadfast Convention. You were an absolute joy to work with and I was amazed at how popular having a naturopath, available for brief iridology consults, was on the stand. Word spread very fast and we definitely could have kept you twice as busy! It really encouraged people to come and visit us as well whilst waiting to see you.
Every broker I spoke to about their consultation (even the non-believers!) was overwhelmed with your ability to ‘see’ them as an individual and left them feeling highly motivated and encouraged with the practical and useful guidance that you provided them. I know many of them have taken the next step in trying to improve their health from the advice you provided.
Thank you again for all your help and I really hope that we will have the opportunity of using your services again in future events in Melbourne."
