Those who are unhappy have no need for anything in this world but people capable of giving them their attention. The capacity to give one’s attention to a sufferer is a very rare and difficult thing. It is almost a miracle. It is a miracle.
    - Simone Weil

PERSONAL BACKGROUND
I am a second generation Italian-Australian living in the central Victorian town of Castlemaine with my wife, three children and dog (Olive)..

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND
I have been studying, practicing, and teaching psychology since 1980. My formal education has been undertaken in Australia, the UK and Italy. I have worked as a Clinical Psychologist in a range of settings, including: community rehabilitation, community mental health (in both child & adolescent and adult services), acquired brain injury, and hospital and community based medical services.

THERAPEUTIC APPROACH
My clinical work is informed by a broad range of influences including formal training in a number of therapeutic modalities. These include: brief psychodynamic psychotherapy, narrative approaches, cognitive therapy, and mindfulness-integrated therapies. In recognition of the uniqueness and diversity of human experience, including, social, cultural, and contextual factors, I do not adhere strictly to any single model of therapy; instead, my general approach is a wholistic one that seeks to integrate knowledge derived from Western philosophy / psychological science with that found in Eastern wisdom traditions.
