Have you ever wanted to see a hypnotherapist about stress, weight, smoking or other issues but were afraid to “hand over control of your mind” into someone else’s care?
Hypnotherapy, contrary to popular misconceptions (due to the use of the prefix 'hypno'), is not an authoritarian form of mind control in a trance-like state. The client is alert, always exercises choice and control, and is empowered by accessing their own inner resources and healing ability rather than simply obeying a command.
Did you ever consider that learning to meditate might be a good idea but you thought it would be “too difficult to focus”?
Meditation is not about focus but about the ability to let the mind settle beyond thought. The psychological and physiological benefits of meditation are well documented and include reduction in physiological stress indicators (including stress hormones), reduction in depression & anxiety, increased creativity and ability to concentrate, and improved communication between different parts of the brain.
Judith’s practice is based on the strengths of Positive Psychology and the philosophy that you should take away practical skills that you can use at home from the first session. These should be skills that can be easily incorporated into busy lives to maintain the positive benefits you’ve achieved in your sessions at her practice.
Just as you may employ the services of a personal trainer to tailor make a fitness program to suit your physical needs, so Judith will tailor make a program to suit the needs of your mind.
You may choose Wellness Coaching to improve one or more aspects of your health, such as weight loss or fitness, or Hypnotherapy to accelerate improvement in a specific area such as to stop smoking.

ARE YOU INTERESTED IN LEARNING HOW TO RELAX DEEPLY AND EFFECTIVELY IN A MANNER THAT CAN BE EASILY INCORPORATED IN YOUR DAILY LIFE?
Come and learn Mindfulness Meditation in Double Bay
Mindfulness is about refining your attention and awareness, slowing you down from the frenetic pace in which most of us live to a more manageable level, where we can find the inner time to "stop and smell the roses". Practiced regularly, this technique can help you to work more productively whilst living more harmoniously.
Meditation is a relaxation technique that taps into the innate potential for healing that we all have. It mobilizes and develops our ability for self-awareness and self-compassion as well as compassion for others, helping to improve self-esteem and providing a general feeling of relaxed well-being.
These and other stress-reduction tecniques will be covered in this 4 week course, which is designed for non-meditators or occasional meditators who wish to enhance their sense of well-being by mastering simple techniques to lower stress and anxiety. Please enquire if you are looking for a more advanced meditation group.

About Judith
Judith Lissing first learned to meditate nearly 30 years ago, only a few months before a serious motor vehicle accident put her into hospital for four months, during her final year of university. It was meditation that helped her overcome the physical and emotional challenges of these long months in hospital as well as the operations that took place in the coming years. Meditation also helped Judith to maintain her motivation to complete her Bachelor of Science degree with Honours, in spite of this considerable set back.
Her experience with Creative Visualisation and Hypnotherapy grew out of a children’s self-esteem program Judith developed several years later for her Master of Public Health degree, which was piloted as a primary prevention program for youth suicide. She trialed this program in several Sydney primary schools and was later invited by other schools to work with their students to help with esteem-building and stress management. In time, and via word of mouth, Judith found herself regularly working both with groups and one-on-one.
Judith now brings her 14 years experience of Hypnotherapy & teaching Meditation to Double Bay where she is conveniently located in the heart of Sydney's Eastern Suburbs at Suite 2, Level 2, 16-18 Cross St, Double Bay (next door to Curves Fitness Centre).
