About Kaitlin

Kaitlin Edin is a highly qualified & accredited acupuncturist and herbalist, within the East Asian tradition.

She began her studies informally in Japan in the late nineties, as an integral part of her martial arts practice.

In 2001 she began her formal training in Australia, thereafter taking up regular Yoga and meditation to deepen her understanding of the technology and science of mind-body medicine.

Kaitlin successfully completed the four year degree of Health Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine at the University of Technology, Sydney, but has also had the great fortune to be mentored for several years by one of Sydney’s leading acupuncture and herbal medicine practitioners.

Particular areas of interest include women’s health, the treatment of mood and spirit disorders, gastrointestinal and immunity related conditions.

Kaitlin offers an excellent, affordable service to people of all ages. Private health funds rebates are available, but if you have no private health cover or if you are a pensioner or student, a discounted consultation fee is available. Enquiries to the clinic or Kaitlin directly are welcome.

Kaitlin is an accredited member of the Australian Natural Therapists Association (ANTA) and the Complementary Medicine Practitioner Associations Council (CMPAC).

Where to find me?
Welcome to The Genki Centre

Around a hedge of bamboo you find a green door and the opening to an oasis space known as The Genki Centre, a natural healthcare clinic providing meridian therapy, Japanese acupuncture and East Asian Medicine.

Inside you will find a place of quiet achievement, healthcare excellence and nurturance. People - their mind, heart and body are - cared for and considered within its walls.

Located close to Victoria Park, Sydney University and the thriving inner city Sydney suburb of Glebe, it feels the ripples of all these currents around it, and still maintains an inner quietude and calm. Truly it is a place of catching up, winding down or coming back to the body and the self, it is a place to repair, remember, and heal.

For those in the know, "Genki" means health and wellness in Japanese!

What is Traditional East Asian Medicine?

Traditional East Asian Medicine is a broad term for a practice that is about health and wellbeing. At the heart of this medicine is its diagnostic logic and wisdom. This logic is sensitive enough to appreciate those fine initial tremors of ill health that can either go unnoticed or untreated, and yet it is robust enough to ensure proper treatment strategies for serious illnesses.

In this way the scope and depth of this medicine is extraordinary. It can be used to maintain a sense of wellbeing, and provide a tune up of the body’s energy systems, or it can be employed to treat a range of acute or chronic dysfunction and disease.

The medical therapies applied within this sophisticated and elegant diagnostic system include the gentle, time-honoured strategies of acupuncture, acupressure, moxibustion, cupping, gua sha and herbal medicine. They are straight-forward and highly effective therapies, which go a long way to restoring the balance to function, making you feel and be better.

You will find more information about who I am, what I do and what kinds of treatments are available to you on my website.
Always feel free to send me a comment or a question.
