TCM- A Holistic Approach
Traditional Chinese Medicine, practiced for centuries, can provide the assistance you need to stay healthy and happy even in this stressful modern environment.
The combination of diagnostic and treatment tools are unique to Chinese medicine, and are increasingly becoming recognized in the West as a system that gets results, naturally.
The therapists at KCM offer comprehensive consultations to ensure that the underlying pattern of each patient’s condition is diagnosed correctly. Then your condition will be clearly explained in both western and TCM terms, and a treatment plan formulated including any lifestyle or dietary changes necessary to attain the results you desire.
Shiatsu, Lomi Lomi and Remedial Massage
Shiatsu is an ancient Japanese massage using direct pressure on acu-points. Kali & Ayla combine Shiatsu with Tui Na (Chinese Remedial) techniques using oils and liniments on
a massage table. Cupping, spooning & moxibustion techniques be incorporated for a stronger therapeutic treatment. Shiatsu treatments are deep, rhythmic & relaxing, working on both the physical and the energetic to release built up stress in body, and restore balance.
Hawaiian Ka Huna Lomi Lomi is a beautiful form of body work which is energetically vibrant yet deeply relaxing. It is a full body oil based massage in which the practitioner uses hands and forearms in long fluid strokes of varying intensity and rhythm up, down and around the body. The massage has a unique flowing style, which is deep tissue in nature, working to nurture the body as well as to release tension and relieve strain. Lomi Lomi also balances the mind emotionally thereby providing a safe space for you to empower yourself to deal effectively with life's challenges. It is ideal for rejuvenating and relaxing both body and mind affected by the stressful demands of life.
Pregnancy massage is available on a comfortable pregnancy cushion - you can lie on your front or side up until full term!

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to be unwell before I have a treatment?
Chinese medicine was originally a therapy used to prevent illness. You don't need to have a particular health concern to have Chinese medicine. In fact, it is very beneficial to have a check-up & treatment to stay in balance.
Will my insurance cover my treatment?
Yes, if you have extras cover. Usually you only need to pay the gap if your private heath fund is compatible with iSoft. This amount will depend on your fund and level of cover.
How much does it cost?
An initial consultation (including acupuncture) is $80 (allow 1 1/2 hrs)
Ongoing sessions are $55 (allow 1 hr).
Herbal medicine is additional, and depends on what you require. Prices usually range from $14 - $28 per week.
Massage is $70 for 1 hour, $45 per 1/2 hr (GST included)
Ear Candling is $45
*For acupuncture during labor, Kali may be available. Call out fee is $100, then $50 per hour thereafter
Do the needles hurt?
The needles used in acupuncture are very fine and acupuncture is usually a painless therapy when applied correctly. You will experience a sensation when the needle stimulates the qi; this can be a tingling or a dull ache, and is different for each person and point needled. Everyone's experience of acupuncture is different, and some points are more sensitive than others.
Laser is an alternative to acupuncture if you prefer not to have needles.
How many times will I need to have a treatment?
This is dependant on a number of factors, such as how long the health concern has been present. The number of treatments would be different for every individual. As an indicaton though, a course of treatment is usually advised; this would often be 4-6 sessions. Some people find it so beneficial in times of stress they come weekly for support during times of intense pressure, emotional upheaval, or rehabilitation.
