Naturopathic Medicine
Areas of specialty and approach to treatment
Kamma practices Naturopathy, Medical Phytotherapy (Modern evidence- based botanical medicine) and Nutritional Medicine in treating a wide range of acute and chronic conditions. She is passionate about alliances with other health care practitioners such as General Practitioners (doctors),

Surgeons, Chiropractors, and other specialists in providing individuals with the most comprehensive health care. Her training in mainstream physiology, pharmacology, and clinical training give her a comprehensive understanding of integrative medicine.

The Functional Medicine Approach
Kamma practices through the functional medicine approach – personalised medicine that deals with the primary prevention and underlying causes, instead of treating symptoms for serious chronic disease. It is a science based field of health care that revolves around: Patient centered: Centered on patient care rather than “disease care.” Biochemical individuality: Every person’s individual genetic makeup is different.

Health as a positive vitality – not merely the absence of disease. Addressing internal and external influences: e.g. Genetics versus lifestyle. Web-like interconnections: The human body functions as an orchestrated network of interconnected systems. For example, immunity can affect cardiovascular health.

Promotion of healthy organs as a way to enhance overall health. Some of the treatment modalities that Kamma uses in her practice include: nutritional medicine and dietary therapy, vitamin/mineral supplementation, modern botanical (herbal) medicine, German homotoxicology, and lifestyle counseling.

Some of the conditions that Kamma treats include:
Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
Nervous system disorders such as depression and anxiety.
Gastrointestinal conditions including: IBS, constipation, inflammatory bowel disease and reflux.
Immune conditions including infections, glandular fever and auto-immune disorders such as lupus, rheumatoid arthritis and thyroid conditions.
Urinary disorders including acute/chronic urinary tract infections and kidney stones.
Cardiovascular conditions such as hypertension (high blood pressure), high cholesterol, and heart disease.
Endocrine disorders including diabetes, thyroid and adrenal disorders.
Women’s health conditions including menstrual irregularities, PMS, infertility, pregnancy, IVF, and menopause.
Men’s health including prostate health and fertility issues.
Weight management and healthy lifestyle counseling.

As a practitioner, Kamma’s focus is on consulting with the individual in achieving optimal health by assisting the body’s natural healing mechanisms. Patients receive a physical / postural examination, laboratory assessment, and an individualized treatment plan, based on their specific needs.
Kamma is passionate about integrative medicine and works with different types of physicians to offer patients the best possible healthcare.

Herbal Medicine

Phytotherapy is the modern practice of evidence based herbal medicine, combining the wisdom of an ancient tradition with cutting edge, current scientific research, for optimal patient health.

Wellness Medicine
Everyone would like to live longer and in good health, but this involves the achievement of important goals.

Kamma works with her Wellness Patients to prevent and delay the serious diseases that increase with age. These include cancer, cardiovascular disease, stokes, Alzheimer’s disease, type 2 diabetes and osteoarthritis. Genetically incongruent lifestyle choice is the leading cause of chronic disease, early death, suffering, lost vitality and productivity in the Western world. The baby boomers are aging! This is causing a world wide shift as the baby boomers seek strategies for maintaining health. Kamma develops individualised health strategies with her patients to optimise their ability to move well, think well and be well.

Integrative Medicine

Kamma received additional specialized training in integrative medicine. She now dedicates the majority of her practice to researching and implementing comprehensive management and treatment for her patients.

Testimonials
Kamma Chapman ND’s Patients

On a recent hiking holiday overseas I was reminded how much my life had improved since seeing Kamma. I had Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and my energy and health was at its worst. Once treatment progressed with Kamma I experienced an incredible increase in energy. My mental clarity and memory improved considerably and I started doing all the things I had been putting off !

My mother had recently been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. I am just so relieved we found Kamma. Kamma developed a comprehensive wellness plan to reduce the effects of the disease and improve Mum’s quality of life. We have seen such positive improvements in Mum that my husband and I decided we should avoid the same health problems. Kamma developed an excellent preventative strategy. We have such peace of mind knowing we are doing everything we can to stay in the best shape possible, mentally, emotionally and physically.

My husband and I were ready to start a family but were overwhelmed by the amount of information out there. We really wanted to have a healthy baby and a great pregnancy. Kamma explained everything to us and really empowered us to make well informed decisions. Callum is now a beautiful bonny 4 year old, bouncing with energy ! He also goes to see Kamma for health checkups and wellness care.
