SERVICES Oncology Massage
Massage for a person with cancer or a history of cancer needs adjustment. With the right adjustments by a trained massage therapist everyone with cancer or a history of it can recieve the benefits
I have completed 3 of the 4 modules of the oncology massage course conducted at the san hospital, Wahroongah. I have also completed training for Gentle Scar Mobilisation for the post Mastectomy + Radiation Client a course for massage therapists + nurses. The Oncology course is recognised by the national cancer council.
Benefits of this tipe of massage can improve:
- pain levels
- Fatigue
- anxiety
- nausea
- depression
- sleep
- & general well-being
A treatment offers moments when relaxation + peace combine, a time of gently tendering to restrictions in range of motion, fluid build up aches and pains from procedures and or bed rest. Often times a massage can help the carer or family member who is walking alongside you throughout your journey.
Please consult your oncologist or medical practitioner to see if oncology massage can help you throughout your treatment.
An Initial treatment of 30 minutes is recommended following a specific history being taken. If you wish to talk about or book a treatment please contact me at

Are you bringing your head and arms forward for several hours each day at work to the computer, driving machinery or tending to your baby?
Are your shoulders and arms uncomfortable when lying on your side in bed? Do you have pins and needles or tingles down your arms? Do you have a deep, dull ache in your shoulder and down your outer arm?
Uncomfortable turning over in bed? Are you picking up weights and twisting to place them down again - such as carrying children on your hip and putting them into a car seat or bath?
Do you keep spraining your ankle? Does it feel weak?
If you can relate to any of these issues, I may be able to assist in your treatment and recovery.

Welcome to Dural Wellness Centre
As a long standing resident of the area, I understand the various lifestyles of the locals. Situated centrally at Round Corner, Dural Wellness centre services clients travel from Castle Hill, West Pennant Hills, Dural, Galston, Glenorie, Maroota, Glenhaven and Rouse Hill.
My intention is to assist you in a practical manner, working on soft tissue, to help your body to function in a relaxed and comfortable state.
The first visit involves taking a health history, talking about your body related issues, a visual assessment, range of motion tests, palpation, treatment and take home sheets.
The treatment will involve warming the skin and working with you to find and release the cause of your discomfort. A mixture of trigger point therapy, myofascial release, lymphatic Drainage, stretching and other strokes and techniques depending on your needs and condition. You will receive take home information of a general nature, plus more specific information tailored to suit your individual needs.
The knowledge you gain from us working together will enable you to continue healing yourself at home in between treatments . My intention is to empower you to care for yourself wholistically. I am happy to refer you to other health professionals who may be more beneficial to your healing. If you can manage a 1 1/2hr initial appointment, that would be helpful. One hour usually for follow ups.
Heated Stone Massage
During the cooler months, massage using special heated stones is a lovely way to deeply relax and warm your body. The stones are placed over a towel on the body as you lay face down. Then, starting from the feet, the body is oiled and massaged with the heated stones using long rhythmic strokes, finishing at the neck.
This treatment is suitable for those without inflammation who enjoy heat and less specific work on the fleshier muscles.
This makes a nice gift for your girlfriend, wife or mother in particular, I find males tend to prefer a more remedial treatment.
What is Therapeutic/Remedial Massage?
The variety of manual techniques used stimulate sensory receptors in the body. These methods either stimulate a rhythmic order in the bodies functions or disrupt an existing pattern in the nervous system to change nerve and chemical patterns to re-establish homeostasis ie. Balance.
These methods can also change consistency or position of connective tissue (fascia) or to shift pressure in the vessels to facilitate blood and lymph circulation.
I mainly use a combination of cross fibre friction, Triggerpoint Therapy, Myosfascial Release and pumping to release the soft tissues followed by stretches to realign fibres.
If you would like to have a treatment, please book an appointment at Dural Wellness Centre - 9651 5559 or drop in to 8A, Kenthurst Road, Dural, 2158.
