Kathy Sedun Naturopath - Rundle Mall

"Helping the body to heal itself"

Using a blend of traditional and science based healing approaches, a naturopath seeks to enable you to achieve optimal health. As a naturopath, Kathy Sedun will treat you as a unique individual, interpreting your symptoms within the context of your whole life. By treating the foundational problems, rather than the only the symptoms, the results will be long term.

As a highly trained and experienced nutritionalist and herbalist, Kathy may utilise dietary, herbal medicines and/or nutritional supplements as required. Some of the practioner-only product lines include Bioceuticals, Orthoplex, Nutrition Care, Metagenics, Pharma Foods and Mediherb.

What is Naturopathy?

Naturopathy is based on the wholistic approach to your health. You and your symptoms are unique, and will be treated as such.By providing support to specific organs or systems that may be struggling or out of balance, you can begin the healing process. Nutritional and herbal supplements ,and dietary and lifestyle changes are a part of the program used to empower you to regain your health and vitality.

Your Health

Kathy is experienced to help you with health concerns such as weight loss, cholesterol, hypertension, allergies, blood sugar irregularities, fatigue, hormone imbalances, migraines, learning disorders, depression, sleep disorders, irritable bowel syndrome, prostate problems and a range of skin conditions including eczema, acne, rosacea and skin sensitivities.

You may lacking in essentual nutrients for a number of reasons including:
  • Ineffecient digestion- may reduce your ability to absorb nutrients even though you are eating well

  • Environment- chemical, physical and emotional stress increase your vitamin requirements

  • Oral contraceptives- may lead to decrease in your absorption of Vit. B6, and zinc.

  • High protein diets-may lead to inadequate fibre, Vitamin B, and excess saturated fats. See my thesis for a detailed report.

Specialised Dietary Menus

Nutrient requirements vary for different health conditions. In your appointment you will be advised as to which foods can be used as medicines, as well as those to avoid. A diet plan specific to your needs will be provided.

What to expect in Your Appointment

  • A detailed history of your health will be taken in order to ascertain the specific influences affecting your well-being. Diagnostic procedures may include iridology, blood pressure checks, analysis of your diet, and zinc level tests. A detailed questionaire will be offered to you if you suffer from depression to assist in determining appropriate treatment. Should more complex medical laboratry testing be required, the full range of testing at the Analytical Reference Laboratories is available. These include saliva hormone testing, stool analysis for parasites, bacteria, fungal, or sensitivities, saliva adrenal function, hair mineral analysis, and various more complex testing for digestive problems.
