Chinese medicine views the human body as an integrated whole. Keren embraces this philosophy by providing a holistic approach to the treatment of disease. Her treatment techniques include acupuncture, which may incorporate cupping and moxibustion, Chinese herbal medicine, dietary therapy and lifestyle advice. These treatments rebalance and harmonise the body’s internal systems and function to encourage and restore its natural state of balance and wellbeing.
Keren also has a keen interest in ‘food as medicine,’ integrating her extensive knowledge in both Western clinical nutrition and Chinese dietary therapy to provide personalised dietary advice.
Keren’s special area of interest includes women’s health and fertility, including pre-conception and pregnancy care, polycystic ovarian syndrome, endometriosis, irregular or painful periods, PMS and menopause. She is also experienced in the treatment of digestive disorders such as irritable bowel syndrome and inflammatory bowel diseases, skin disorders, respiratory conditions and allregies, headaches and migraines, musculoskeletal injuries and arthritis.
Keren has practiced in both a Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Centre and a Positive HIV Support Centre, providing her with experience in drug withdrawal, addiction, depression, fatigue, insomnia, low immunity, HIV support and mental illness.
Chinese Medicine recognises that health is much more than the absence of disease. Keren endeavours to empower each individual with an understanding of their own health and maintenance for the prevention of illness.
Keren recognises that working together with other medical modalities and practices may enhance the welfare of her patients and will work together with a patient’s other healthcare professionals as required.
QUALIFICATION DETAILSQualifications and Memberships
Keren is a passionate and committed Chinese Medicine practitioner. She holds qualifications in Biomedical Science, Chinese Herbal Medicine, Acupuncture and Dietary Therapy.
Keren has completed a Bachelor of Health Science in Chinese Medicine from the Southern School of Natural Therapy and a Bachelor of Biomedical Science at Monash University. With this unique combination of knowledge, Keren is able to deliver a level of professionalism and expertise based on current research and modern advancements in both Chinese and Western Medicine.
Keren is registered with the Chinese Medicine Registration Board of Victoria and the Australian Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Association. She is registered with all major health funds and her patients are eligible for private insurance rebates on consultations.
