Kimberly Cotton
MASSAGE THERAPIST

Kimberly Cotton has 12 years clinical Massage experience. She started working at Collins Place Physiotherapy Clinic in August 1999. Kimberly spent 5 fantastic years at the clinic working directly along side the Physiotherapists.

For the past 7 year she has been self employed. Kimberly sees a wide range of clients; athletes seem to see her originally because of injury and then stay for help with that competitive edge. She has treated people that are about to have surgery for a wide range of issues and also seen many for post surgery massage. She works with pregnant women, sees many children. And of course sees clients with the troublesome neck, shoulder and backs.

If you would like to book an appointment or ask question please give Kimberly a call.

Testimonials

“I first contacted Kim after being recommended by my physio, about a problem which was a bit tricky. I have MS and have been injecting into one or two spots for 12 year& Very lumpy scar tissue with associated pain is the result.

I asked Kim if she could help - “I’ve never been faced with that condition before, but lets just take a look and see what can be done”. She approached the problem with logic and a “can-do” attitude. While absolutely improving my injection sites with virtually no residual pain, she discovered leg muscle wastage as a result of my cleverly adapting a new style of walking to avoid fatigue. Kim has adapted exercises for me which are all manageable and resulting in the beginnings of muscle rebuilding.

Kim has a wonderful way of seeing the problem and pragmatically devising the best therapeutic massage treatment. She is dedicated, very cheerful (well she is American) and gives me great confidence that together we can work towards my becoming a stronger, healthier person before too long.

When I go on holiday and miss appointments, my body and I really miss Kim."

- Jennie Wilmoth

"I first went to see Kim on the recommendation of a friend when I was training for my first marathon a couple of years ago. I had been suffering from pain in my left knee which was becoming steadily worse and, with only a few weeks to the race and barely able to walk, I was getting desperate.

Kim managed to see me at very short notice and, despite my very vague explanation of where my knee pain was, quickly identified that it was due to a tight ITB and weak VMO. She told me that she could help me but was also honest about what it would involve. After an intensive hour of working solely on my left ITB, I could still barely walk, but I left armed with stretches and strengthening exercises together with Kim’s assurance that things would improve.

After another session with Kim a few days later, I was able to run again and, with regular visits up until the marathon, together with a fierce devotion to stretching, finished the race over five minutes faster than my target time without any pain whatsoever.

Until I found Kim, I had seen several massage therapists, none of whom gave me much confidence in their abilities. I have been very impressed by Kim’s passion for her profession and her knowledge of the human body, how it works and, most importantly, how to make it work. As a keen athlete herself, she is also able to appreciate people’s individual sporting goals and to help them achieve them.

I now see Kim about once a month, or more regularly if I am training for something specific and, although I’m not as dedicated to my stretching as I once was, Kim still manages to keep me running."
