Do you have any areas of expertise?
In my practice, I enjoy treating families. However, I do have a special interest and extended experience with cancer support. Below are a few success stories...
"I was diagnosed with breast cancer 3 years ago and contacted Kimberly straight away to help support me through my treatment. With Kimberly's help the effects of chemo were minimal and except for a couple of days after each chemo session I felt very well throughout my treatment. I have now been on Tamoxifen and Zolodex for 3 years and have been also taking natural supplements that Kimberly has prescribed and supplied. I had a bone mineral density test recently and my bones are 10 years younger than my age. This is apparently extremely rare for women who have had chemo and been on Tamoxifen and Zolodex for long periods of time. I believe I have Kimberly to thank for this. Kimberly is extremely skilled in her field and I would recommend her to anyone." - Carol
"I am a 33 year old mother of 3 beautiful young children. For many years I relied on a homeopath for my families medical needs. When I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009 my world was turned upside down. As I progressed through my treatment of chemo & radiation I felt myself losing control of my health. My homeopath was unable to help me while I was on chemo. Kimberly was referred to me by a friend and I first met her while I was undergoing herceptim. I found her to be highly supportive, professional & caring. She guided me though my treatment and helped to balance my body. Following all the drugs that had been pumped through my body to kill the cancer, I felt toxic. I feel that Kimberly helped me to regain control of my health, she put me on the right track to wellness. Her availability by telephone, email or txt from time to time was very comforting. Kimberly is a wonderful naturopath - she is empathetic, knowledgeable and thorough. She has a holistic approach to health care whereby she addresses both emotional and physical issues and how they impact on one another. I believe she has had had such a huge and positive impact on my health and the way I live my life through diet & lifestyle and I am grateful to all she has done to help me. Thank-you Kimberly." :) Xo - sonia
"I was diagnosed with Non Hodgkins Lymphoma in mid 2010 and at the time was close to burnt out from a high pressure job and also suffering a chronic back problem. I saw Kimberly after my first round of treatment which had really knocked me around. We worked hard to improve my health through diet and weight loss and Kimberly also worked with some of my other health professionals to support the rehabilitation with my back problems.
In 2011 I was forced to start more rigorous cancer treatment including chemotherapy and other drugs but launched into this treatment from a much better state of health. I worked nearly every week throughout my treatment in relatively good health and had little to no side-effects. I have passed through this recent treatment so much easier than my first when it should have been far more difficult. I count myself very lucky to have worked with Kimberly and know my future promises better health with such a dedicated practitioner to assist me." David, age 30.
"Kimberly is warm and engaging. She is a great role model for other women in that she proves that one does not need to be fanatical about nutrition and supplementation to have good health. What is most striking about Kimberly and the feedback that has been received, is that her nutrition and supplementation suggestions are manageable. Her suggestions can be implemented easily with readily available goods." -Vanessa Marchant- YWCA Encore Program, after breast cancer gentle exercise program.
What is Cancer Support?
Cancer support is not a focus on curing cancer, but a nutritional/biochemical approach focusing on an increase in quality of life, survival time and/or slowing the time of disease progression. The goal is to work with conventional treatments to fully mobilize the body's resistance to cancer.
"We have to look closely at how we define cancer treatment success. Our focus is on healing from cancer, which refers to an internal process of becoming whole and feeling harmonious with yourself and your environment. Healing pertains to all levels of being, bringing a person’s true character into focus and healthy expression. Success relies on internal awareness just as much as external factors. You cannot force success; you just need to make room for it. Those who transition from this life should not be judged unsuccessful. Perhaps cancer was meant to be a vehicle for them- a stepping-stone.
It has been said that the true measure of a life is not reflected in the number of years lived, but in how one lived those years on this earth. This is particularly true for people with cancer. The measure of a life is calculated by how we spend our days and how we treat others. These are outcomes not dictated by chemotherapy, radiation, surgery, or supplements. Cancer success comes in the form of realization, personalization, connection, contentment, and grace, which can’t be measured in a test tube, diagnostic lab, or doctor’s office. Regardless of the physical outcome, these measures of success are embedded in one’s heart and soul. Not even cancer can steal the true measure of a life well lived.” - The definitive guide to cancer by Lise Alschuler & Karolyn Gazella.
In order to achieve this you may choose a variety of health professionals to guide you on your journey; your oncologist, oncology nurse, oncology massage therapist, yoga/meditation coach, counsellor, acupuncturist, spiritual advisor, naturopath... the choice is yours. This page is dedicated to giving you information, to allow you to decide if you would like naturopathic support along your journey...
What is Naturopathic support and is a Naturopath one of the health professionals I would like on my team?
Nutritional Support- would you like to assess your diet and overall health and/or learn which foods reduce inflammation/pain, boost the immune system and how to use food as medicine?
Symptomatic Relief- would you like more energy, less nausea, less pain...?
Support through Medical Treatments- would you like to safely make sure your conventional treatments have minimal effect on your overall health so you can successfully complete your course of treatment and/or have a more 'targeted therapy' by testing the agents you are using to overcome cancer and/or use herbal therapy & nutrition to enhance your conventional treatments?
If you have answer yes to any of the above, please feel free to call 0403 072 251 and set aside a time to get together and discuss your needs.
Have you been diagnosed with cancer?
Often when you are diagnosed with having cancer, your world is turned upside down. Suddenly you have decisions you have to make, which will alter your way of life. You are expected, often immediately, to make these decisions with either too much information or too little information about treatment options and your plan of action. If you decide to aid your treatment with natural therapies, diet and lifestyle you often have no idea where to start. There is too much conflicting information about natural treatments for cancer and you don’t know who is right or wrong, what is safe and who is trying to take advantage of you.
How can I help you?
I can help you take control of your own health. I offer guidance through the unending information and decisions you have to make when faced with the diagnosis of cancer. Together we can focus on building your health & vitality to resist cancer, support you through medical treatments (pre-surgery, post-surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, & symptom relief), then work on your overall wellness to reduce the likelihood of reoccurrence.
Why can I help you?

I am devoted to using integrated medicine, bringing together the best of scientific medicine and natural medicine for the most effective results.
My work is based on knowledge and experience. My philosophy is to treat each patient as an individual and always maintain honesty, integrity and morality in my life and in my work. I have a guarantee that if you are not satisfied with the level of knowledge, competency and care I put into your health program, your consultation is free.

Section 3
What is Naturopathy?
Naturopathic philosophy is to treat the person, not the condition or disease. We believe that symptoms & disease come from an imbalance of mind, body & spirit.
Therefore the focus in a treatment plan is to assess and balance these three factors:
1.) Your spirit- your life goals, dreams & fulfillment in life.
2.) Your mind- your mental and emotional state, if you are affected by stress, depression or anxiety.
3.) Your body-
• Your level of oxidation (free radical damage) which can lead to degenerative diseases and a much quicker aging process.
• Your level of inflammation, which can lead to chronic disease & pain.
• Whether or not you are a healthy weight, obesity can lead to metabolic syndromes & diabetes.
• Your pH balance, most degenerative diseases thrive in an acidic state, which can be directly linked to our diet.
• Your organ & metabolic function such as your immune integrity, gastrointestinal functions & hormone balance.
It is believed that when your mind, body & spirit are in balance it makes your body a place where disease cannot live. This is when vitality, strength and longevity are all in abundance. Easy step-by-step treatment plans are compiled to get you to your ultimate health.
What is Clinical Naturopathy?
Natural practitioners have always used empirical knowledge, knowledge passed down from the ages. They use treatments that have worked for centuries, based on documentation and experience.
With more ongoing research available about the way herbs and nutrients work in the human body, scientifically-based treatment plans have become possible. This is where the practitioner bases treatments around the science of the human body, medical diagnostics and, where possible, evidence based medicine.
Clinical Naturopathy is the use of empirical knowledge backed up by evidence based medicine, research, and medical tests to assess illness and an appropriate treatment plan.
What is integrated medicine?
“Integrative therapy/medicine” is when natural therapies and conventional therapies are used together. Usually these treatment plans are scientifically based, individualized protocols developed by natural practitioners and medical practitioners working together (a “protocol” refers to a program of therapies, dietary recommendations and activities that practitioners develop with their patients).
How can Clinical Naturopathy & integrated medicine help me?
Naturopathic medicine is formed on the basic belief that the body is intelligent and if given the right environment and nutrients, it will sustain good health. Conventional Medicine is skilled in diagnosing conditions, reducing harmful side-effects (ie. high blood pressure) and/or repairing/removing damage (ie. surgery).
Signs and symptoms are the bodies' way of telling you that "something is not right" or your body is out of balance. These signs and symptoms are the result of the body struggling to balance itself. If left for too long this struggle for balance can become damaging and cause a disease progression. The deciding factor on which naturopathic and conventional treatments you use, depends on the advancement of your disease or illness.
It is very important that a proper diagnosis is made before any treatment has started, so that the seriousness of your condition is assessed. Many screening tools are used by your clinical naturopath to assess your health status and the effectiveness of your treatment protocol, but your diagnosis should come from your medical doctor.
The beauty of this relationship, is that your Medical doctor can diagnose your condition, assess the seriousness and disease progression, and give you medication (if necessary) to prevent further progression or damage...
Meanwhile your Naturopathic practitioner can aid you in modifying your diet and/or lifestyle and give you the nutrients your body needs to support the healing process. As well, some natural medicines can also aid in reducing/removing signs & symptoms while your healing. Using an integrated approach will make sure you get the best possible care, aid you back to full health and a better quality of life!
What is involved?
Your initial appointment will be to assess your diet, lifestyle and current state of health through a health questionnaire and screening tools.
• We will discuss your complete health history, including symptoms & disease, and your current diet and lifestyle. We will go over any medical diagnostics and/or disease diagnosis you may have.
• Live Blood Analysis will immediately screen your health status showing imbalances such as inflammation, liver health, poor nutrition, and oxidative stress & free radical damage.
• Urinary analysis will screen gut health and a pH test will assess ‘acid load’ in the body.
• A zinc status test will assess your levels of zinc, which is one of the most important minerals in immune-system health.
On your next appointment we will discuss your overall health status and develop your step-by-step treatment plan to get you back to optimum health. I will be there as your personal health coach throughout your journey and then help you to maintain your new level of health.
Section 4
What screening tools are used at your clinic?
These are screening tools used to assess your overall health status and monitor the efficiency of treatment protocols. These are not diagnostic tools and often a referral will be given to follow-up results with further medical diagnostics.
Comprehensive Screening Questionnaires
• Comprehensive Health Appraisal-
A detailed documentation of your health history, signs, symptoms, and specific organ systems to help formulate an appropriate assessment of your health status, further necessary diagnostics and treatment protocol.
• Cardiovascular Risk Assessment-
A comprehensive assessment of all the well known CVD risk factors including lipids, blood sugar levels and lifestyle factors such as smoking and exercise. In addition, it also provides the opportunity to assess emerging CVD risk factors including inflammation, stress, elevated homocysteine levels and obstructive sleep apnoea.
• Depression, Anxiety & Stress Assessment-
The Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale (DASS) questionnaire is a designed to measure the three related negative emotional states of depression, anxiety and tension/stress. This measure has been repeatedly tested for its accuracy and efficiency and has been proven to be a reliable way to assess your mood state.
• Mood and Stress Questionnaire-
The Mood and Stress Questionnaire will help identify the best prescription for you based on your clinical symptoms and can be used as a monitoring tool to watch your progress and to identify changes in treatment priorities as they occur.
Zinc Tally Test
Zinc Taste Test provides a quick and reliable clinical test for the assessment of zinc status. By using the oral Zinc Taste Test to determine the need for zinc, and retesting after 30 days of supplementation, one can not only determine zinc requirements, but also monitor that the zinc is being properly absorbed.
Numerous research studies have found that sub-optimal levels of zinc are very common at all ages, especially in the elderly. An Australian study found that 85% of women and 65% of men do not receive the RDA for zinc in their diets. This can lead to problems with skin condition, immune function, infertility and other disorders
Urinary Indican Test
The Urinary Indican Test measures the putrefaction (Decomposition of organic matter, by microorganisms, resulting in production of foul-smelling matter) of protein in the gastrointestinal tract by dysbiotic bacteria. If the test results are positive, it suggests gastrointestinal toxicity as a result of dysbiosis.
Possible Causes of a Positive Indican Test:
• Intestinal overgrowth of anaerobic bacteria (dysbiosis)
• Intestinal mucosal permeability (leaky-gut)
• Protein maldigestion (poor digestion or excessive intake)
• Constipation
pH Test
A pH test is to measure the acid/alkaline balance of fluids. Why is urinary pH important?Subtle changes to the pH of the body can have substantial impacts on a range of health conditions, including stress, bone density, pain, muscle mass and hormonal balance. For instance, cancer cells and degenerative disease thrives in an acidic environment.
Live Blood Analysis (LBA)
LBA is a revolutionary form of Darkfield Live Blood Screening that investigates the size, shape, associations, ratios and fine structure of the red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets.
The advantage of LBA is that it allows you to be involved, you can see your blood instantly on screen and are able to see the condition of your blood and watch it improve over consecutive consultations. You will receive a customised report to keep in your medical files for future reference.
LBA can assist in screening for health limiting processes, such as:
• High/low white blood cell count.
• Inflammation
• Oxidative stress & free radical damage
• Reduced nutritional status
• Poor liver function
• Reduced digestive Integrity
• Impared immune performance
Body Mass Index (BMI)
The body mass index (BMI) is a statistical measure which compares a person's weight and height. Though it does not actually measure the percentage of body fat, it is used to estimate a healthy body weight based on a person's height. Due to its ease of measurement and calculation, it is the most widely used diagnostic tool to identify weight problems.
