About Me
My background is scientific in nature. I graduated from the Australian National University with a degree in biochemistry and worked as a researcher in the neuroscience department of the Baker Medical Research Institute. During my annual vacation one year, I decided to travel to Africa which changed my life and my life-direction. I realized that life was too short to not follow my passion. I had always been fascinated by the medicinal properties of herbs and grown them when ever I could. To put my passion into practice I sought training by Dorothy Hall, one of Australia’s most renowned herbalists and from there I went on to complete my studies in Naturopathy. I have worked as a naturopath and herbalist for the past ten years and it continues to be my passion and the reason I get up every morning. Since then I have added a Certificate IV in Kinesiology which I have found a brilliant tool for bringing all of the modalities together.
Naturopathic consultations incorporate the use of several modalities to help determine the source of your discomfort or health issues. To me, naturopathy is the perfect union between natural remedies and modern-day science. Some of the tools that I use to give an individual assessment in my consultation include: iridology, nutritional medicine, herbal medicine, flower essences, diet and lifestyle support. My approach is largely evidence-based which is due to my background in biochemistry. The aim of my consultations is to bring about balance and restore health and wellbeing.

Iridology is a quick, accurate and painless system of health analysis through the examination of the part of the eye known as the iris. The iris is an extension of the brain endowed with many thousands of nerve endings, microscopic blood vessels, as well as muscle and connective tissue. Every organ is connected to the iris via the nervous system. So this makes it possible to see the registration of the various organs and body tissues recorded in the iris.
Herbal Medicine is one of my favourite tools to assist in restoring balance, vitality and wellness. I frequently combine several herbs to target particular health concerns. Many of my clients are children so I have developed ways of making the herbs very palatable and sweet. Part of the reason I have so much success with kids is due to the fact that I have a five year old son. He has not yet been to see a doctor (although he is fascinated by them!). It is not that he doesn’t get sick, just that I know what to give him when he does. His recovery is always a speedy one.
Kinesiology uses muscle testing to locate energy blockages within the body. Because it is able to bypass the conscious thinking processes it can pinpoint factors that underlie issues within the body. This is very important because kinesiology can take you to the very heart of the issue whether that be an event that occurred one month ago, during childhood or before birth.
The use of kinesiology in combination with naturopathy allows the body to indicate exactly what nutritional product, herb, homeopathic, essence or supplement is needed in order to support the body’s healing process. This means that you heal more directly and completely.
Reiki is a natural form of healing therapy. It is applied by gently laying hands different areas of the body. It aims to increase energy levels and promote relaxation and wellbeing. The underlying philosophy of reiki is that if a person’s ‘life force energy’ is high, they are more capable of being feeling well. Reiki will not cure illnesses or disease but it may help your body to heal itself.
