What is Holistic Kinesiology?
Kinetics is the science of energy and movement. Kinesiology was originally used as a term to describe the study of body movement. In the early 1960’s an American Chiropractor named George Goodheart formed the science of Applied Kinesiology, now practiced by many Chiropractors around the world. This was a blending of eastern energy principles and manual muscle testing, to give feedback about the body’s state of wellbeing.
The principles of Holistic Kinesiology are based on the ancient Chinese model of regularly supporting a state of wellness, rather than being motivated about it when we are unwell.
Holistic Kinesiology evolved from integrating specialized forms of Kinesiology with Western principles of anatomy and physiology. It also incorporates dietary advice, counseling and therapeutic energy balancing.
How it works...
Holistic Kinesiology uses manual muscle monitoring feedback to ascertain where stress patterns are located in the structural, emotional and electromagnetic systems of the physical and metaphysical body. Muscle monitoring feedback also indicates to the practitioner how to release these energy blockages and stresses to restore balance or homeostasis for health and wellbeing. Muscle monitoring is a natural feedback mechanism. It uses an indicator muscle that supplies information via the nervous system and the meridian system in the brain and body. When the body is under stress, energy flow can become blocked. Using muscle monitoring the practitioner can access a stress in some area or function of the system. These symptomatic stressors underlie many disease patterns. Through the monitoring of the muscles' responses, Holistic Kinesiology goes underneath the conscious or obvious symptoms to isolate causal factors.
Positive feedback from muscle monitoring will also specifically indicate which reflex zones or acupoints can be stimulated to correct imbalances, thereby stimulating the body's own internal healing mechanisms. Each Holistic Kinesiology treatment is unique and is specific to the individuals needs at that time.
