Deep Tissue
Focused on the deeper layers of muscle tissue deep tissue massage aims to release the chronic patterns of tension in the body through slow strokes and deep pressure on the contacted areas, either following or going across the fibres of the muscles, tendons and facia. Concentrates on more specific areas and helps to break up and eliminate scar tissue.
Swedish
Swedish massage is a very gentle type of massage which gives a feel of soothing flow and soft pressure on the bodily tissues.
Aromatherapy
Is the ancient science of healing, relaxing and invigorating by the use of plants and their parts. Essential oils enter through our olfactory system and affect the nervous system, thus improving mood which have relaxing or energising effect on the body. It is an extremely nurturing and gentle way of establishing body, mind and spirit equilibrium.
Shiatsu
Evolved in Japan, Shiatsu has its origins in Chinese medicine, which is based on the principles of energy flows through meridians in the body. Applying pressure along these meridians results in restoration of energy flows and the promotion of harmony and maintenance of good health. Usually performed through clothes and coupled with a light stretching technique.
Chinese
Is an important component in Traditional Chinese Medicine and is one of the four main branches alongside Chinese herbal medicine, acupuncture and Qi Gong. It is traditionally performed through clothes and used to treat specific illnesses of internal nature as well as musculoskeletal ailments.
Reflexology
Reflexology is based on the belief that there are reflex areas on the feet corresponding to all the parts of the body including major organs. Stimulation of extensive nerve endings in the feet can have profound effects through the body.
Pre and Post Natal
Pregnancy is a time of great, physical change for woman and during this time massage can help a woman to continue to enjoy and relax into her body despite its many changes. It can reduce feelings of nausea, minimise stretch marks, combat fluid retention and alleviate the stress and strain on muscles and joints that result from carrying extra weight. During and after labour massage can ease pains and aches, as well speed up the process of recovery especially scar tissue. Massage can also assist in reducing fatigue at a crucial period when mothers are bonding with the new born baby.
Lymphatic drainage
Lymphatic Drainage is a specialized massage technique designed to activate and cleanse the human fluid system. Lymph in its flow actually takes away the toxins, the germs, and the large molecules that the venous system can't regain. It can, in particular, remove "trapped proteins" and fat molecules in the tissues. . It may help disperse lymphatic fluid, improve nutrient absorption and, thus enhance immune function.
Well Being
Counselling
Counselling is a conversation or dialogue between the counsellor and
client, therefore the counsellor needs certain communication skills in order to facilitate change. The same skills can be used in everyday life for improvement of communication or relationship, or to facilitate change within other people.
Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy is the process of turning your awareness inwards to work with the deep inner mind in a relaxed state. The key therapeutic goal is to motivate and assist you to make changes and teach you techniques which will empower you to do so by yourself, every day. This helps you resume control and move towards achieving your true potential.
Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy studies the way people feel, think, act and interact. Psychologists are experts in human behaviours and have studied the brain, memory, learning and human development. Through a range of strategies and therapies they aim to reduce distress and to enhance and promote emotional wellbeing. Psychologists can assist people who are having difficulty controlling their emotions, thinking and behaviour, including those with mental or physical health problems.
Meditation
Meditation is the state of simply being, just pure experiencing, with no interference from the body or mind. It’s a natural state but one which we have forgotten how to access. The word meditation is also used for what is, more accurately, a meditation method. Meditative methods or techniques are used to create an inner ambience that facilitates disconnecting from the body-mind so one can simply be. Methods are needed only until the state of meditation – of relaxed awareness, of consciousness and centring – has become not just a passing experience but as intrinsic to one as, say, breathing. (group or personal sessions available)
Reiki
Practitioners use a technique similar to the laying on of hands as well as gestures in the air, which they say will channel "healing energy" (ki).In a typical Reiki session, the practitioner asks the recipient to lie down and relax. Usually the practitioner moves their hands close to or on various parts of the recipient's body. Intention is the primary method for directing the flow of the energy.
Reconnective Healing
These highly palpable energies are initiated and carefully manipulated by a Reconnective Healing practitioner during your session, and continue working with you long after your visit has ended. Healings can occur by being exposed to the frequencies and intelligence of the universal matrix energies.
Craniosacral
CST is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the functioning of a physiological body system called the craniosacral system - comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. Using a soft touch generally no greater than 5 grams, or about the weight of a nickel, practitioners release restrictions in the craniosacral system to improve the functioning of the central nervous system.
Clairvoyance - Psychic
Clairvoyance is a term relating to mental abilities or phenomena that are apparently inexplicable by known natural laws, since they seem to transcend the confines of the brain. People who are thought to have these abilities or to be able to produce these phenomena are often called ‘psychics’ or ‘clairvoyants’.
