Dr Gabriel Ituarte B.Sc.(Biomed.Sc.), B.Sc.(Clin.Sc.), M.H.S(Osteo.)
Dr Gabriel Ituarte has a strong interest in osteopathic treatment of pregnant women, babies and children. This special interest has been strengthened through direct experience assisting his own young family. Having helped diagnose and successfully treat his daughter for developmental hip dysplasia highlighted the important role Osteopathy can play in common paediatric conditions. The ability to provide not only immediate help, but also to encourage optimal health and development makes treating babies and children very rewarding for Gabriel.
Exploring new directions and applications in Osteopathy has always been a passion and motivation. His Master's research, for example, examined how osteopathic treatment of the neck can affect jaw pain and function. In 2010, he received the award of Outstanding Master's Student at Victoria University. Gabriel has continued this relationship, acting as a sessional teaching staff member for Clinical Diagnosis. Prior to completing his Master of Osteopathy, Gabriel also completed a degree in Biomedical Science, and contributed for over 7 years as a fitness trainer. His range of study and experience gives Gabriel the expertise to effectively diagnose and treat a wide range of conditions.
