What are Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine?

Acupuncture is through the complex network of nerve pathways in the body to restore balance to the body. It is great for conditions of pain, hormonal imbalance, digestive dysfunction, skin conditions, migraine and so many many others.

When you come to see me, we will first chat together about your condition, I will check your tongue and pulse and then look at these findings within the context of a Traditional Chinese Medicine framework. I will identify if your body is experiencing a condition of deficiency or excess, or if it is under internal or external attack. Your condition may be a hot or cold one or your body's yin and yang energies may not be in balance. All this will be influencing your body's qi, blood and fluid movement. When the qi, blood and fluids are moving in harmony, your body's systems work optimally and you feel healthy and well. To get you back to this place of good health and feeling well I will incorporate Acupuncture, Natural Herbal Medicine, Tuina (Chinese Therapeutic Massage) and Dietary Therapy.

For some people the restoration of balance happens quickly and for others it can take a little while. I can get a picture of how you will respond to treatment when I see your tongue and check your pulse. You will leave your first appointment with a clear idea of the process and how long it will take for you.
