Osteopathy

Osteopathy focuses on the connection between the body’s structure and function and recognizes that much of the pain, disability and illness we suffer comes from a breakdown in this relationship. Osteopaths use various procedures placing particular emphasis on the soft tissues - muscles, ligaments, and fascia as well as the nerves and joints.

My practice focuses on the basic Osteopathic principle of restoring function to the body's mechanics to allow it to work efficiently and help prevent further injuries or wear and tear. This also helps ensure the body’s internal systems are working effectively by supporting optimal function of the nerves, lymphatics and circulation.

Osteopathy is a safe treatment for all your family and a wide range of common conditions respond well to treatment. These may include: back pain and stiffness peripheral joint pain scoliosis sciatica changes to posture pain in pregnancy repetitive strain injury sports injuries postural problems caused by bad habits or work strain arthritis and degenerative joint conditions Treatment may also help relieve headaches, menstrual problems circulation problems, asthma and digestive disorders.

After an initial medical history and structural examination to help determine the cause of the problem, your treatment may include:
* Osteopathic techniques such as soft tissue massage, stretching, ligament and fascial release, muscle energy techniques, joint manipulation and mobilization, craniosacral and visceral techniques.
* Dry needling and neuromusculoskeletal acupuncture
* Advice on posture, nutrition
* Stretching and specific exercise rehabilitative as well as appropriate exercises for rehabilitation and maintainence.

So if you are suffering with any of the above conditions, please don't wait any longer. Call for an appointment now!
