Accredited Mental Health Social Worker/Counsellor
I am an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker and a registered provider with Medicare. I have a range of experience in providing psychological therapeutic interventions to children and adults. I am located in the growing estate of Laurimar which is situated in Doreen. Doreen is located 36km north east of Melbourne CBD and 10-20 mins from Whittlesea, Wallan, Greensborough, Hurstbridge and Epping.
I provide individual counselling to adults and children. I also work with parents assisting them to develop strategies to manage their children's difficult behaviours. My special interest is dyadic work-that is parent/child relationship work.
I have a range of experience in working with people who have mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, self harming behaviours and suicidal ideations, schizophrenia, psychosis and personality disorders. I have experience in working with adults who have drug and alcohol addiction issues. I also have a breadth of experience in child psychiatry and behavioural issues working alongside a Child Psychiatrist in a rural CAMHS service for a period of 2 years. Whilst in this clinical setting I worked with children/adolescents who had severe and complex mental health issues and children on the Autism Spectrum. My work at CAMHS involved individual therapy, parent work, family work and group work; I also worked closely with schools in the area.
My primary therapy modality is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy; however, I also use a combination of Narrative Therapy, Supportive Psychotherapy and Motivational Interviewing. I also have a special interest in attachment and attachment relationships. I am also qualified and trained in Applied Behavioural Analysis Therapy (ABA). ABA is an evidence-based, intensive education therapy for children with an Autism Spectrum Disorder.
In order to claim a significant rebate through Medicare a Referral/GP Mental Health Plan is required from your GP, Paediatrician or Psychiatrist, this will entitle you to 10 sessions per calender year.

With GP/Mental Health Plan-Medicare rebate $73 per session (1 hour)
