Hi my name is Mary, I am a Reiki Master-Teacher . My Reiki journey has been ongoing for almost fifteen years now and I consider Reiki to be a loving and powerful gift to humanity.

I have called on the name of Amrita to describe how I feel Reiki works with me; Amrita is a Sanskrit word meaning nectar (from the Gods) and eternal life ( no death). When I am channeling the Reiki I feel it falls over and into us just like a fragrant and healing nectar that can break through blocks that cause physical, emotional and mental distress to us all at certain times of our lives . Reiki is the name of a Japanese healing modality discovered by Mikao Usui specifically for his own personal and spiritual development. It was further developed by Chujiro Hayashi who named it Reiki and it was finally brought to the West in the 1970s by Hawayo Takata and it then took off in the 1980s on the wings of the New Age Movement. Reiki is a healing energy that can bring balance and alignment into the energy systems in our bodies; it is not necessarily a cure but cures can happen.

Reiki 1 (Shoden) revolves around self healing; making us aware of our own energy centers both subtle and gross. It enhances spiritual awareness, meditation and the power of intention in our lives, giving the cornerstones to a meaningful life through personal and spiritual development and our own healing abilities.
Reiki 2 (Okuden) meaing “inner teaching which centers around increased focus on more refined energy fields with special symbols. Distant healing is an added factor where the practitioner sends Reiki beyond the five senses transcending time, distance and space.
Reiki 3 (Shinpiden) meaning “mystery teaching” , at this level of Master- Teacher the healing energies become more refined. This is not the end of the journey though as each practitioner aligns even further with these beautiful, life enhancing and healing forces that can transform lives.
