What Is Pilates?Pilates is the strengthening, stretching, and stabilising of key muscles. The fundamentals of Pilates are centering, concentration, control, precision, breathing and flowing movement.
Created by Joseph Pilates during the First World War, his system of exercise was designed to assist in the rehabilitation of injured veterans.
Nowadays the Pilates belief is stronger than ever, and still centers around the connection between health and exercise, and a strong body and mind using precise movements, which emphasise control and form.
