TREATMENTS AVAILABLE

Remedial Massage/Deep Tissue Massage
focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue. It aims to release the chronic patterns of tension in the body, through slow strokes and deep finger pressure on contracted areas of tissue, by either following or crossing over the muscle fibres, fascia, ligaments or tendons. These types of massage therapy are usually used to address specific problems associated with chronic muscular pain, injury rehabilitations, sporting and occupational injuries, RSI, and physical and mental fatigue. The techniques can include Trigger Point Therapy, Deep Tissue Massage, Myofascial Release, and Stretching and Strengthening, thereby creating an improved range of motion through the joints.
It's important to drink plenty of water after a deep-tissue session to help eliminate toxins from the body.

Relaxation Massage
is at it implies ... Purely relaxing!!!! How does relaxation benefit your body I hear you ask?
Medical research has shown the benefits of relaxation massage to include pain relief, reduced anxiety and depression. Relaxation works via the autonomic nervous system, affecting the brain to reduce the hormones which stimulate the over production of cortisol by our adrenal glands. By reducing cortisol levels we can reduce blood pressure and heart rate, improve digestive functioning and as a result absorption of nutrients, improve sleep patterns, improve circulation and therefore improve lymphatic flow, and stimulate the production of immune system cells which overall enhances our immune system's functioning.
Relaxation may seem like a simple thing to achieve, and Relaxation Massage may seem frivolous, however the multiple benefits for your body of being able to calm the nervous system down can have far reaching consequences to your sense of health wellness and vitality for life.

Pregnancy Massage
Is a treatment designed to support and nurture women through their pregnancy. Massage is safe and effective for encouraging relaxation, reducing stress levels, high blood pressure, muscular fatigue, improving sleep patterns and reducing pain and discomfort which arises from a changing body shape, .
Typically a pregnancy massage treatment session will be performed in a side lying position, with your body supported by many pillows and bolsters. In this position you will be able to receive massage to your back, legs, arms, shoulders. We can also have you lying on your back for a short time, where if you feel comfotable you may wish to have a brief stomach massage. I can assure even the young life growing in your tummy will love this. I have had many tiny hands, feet and bottoms follow my hands around while I massage their mothers stomach's.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage
Is a gentle whole body treatment which relaxes the nervous system and aids the body's immune system. It involves a range of specialised and gentle rhythmic pumping techniques to move skin in the direction of the lymph flow through a network of lymph vessels and lymph nodes. This supports the body to naturally eliminate excess toxins, dead cells, viruses, bacteria and chemicals. Other benefits of these types of massage are: relieving fluid congestion, promoting wound healing, relieve stress and anxiety. Dr Emil Vodder has created a unique range of movement regarding the lymph system and this method is gaining acceptance in the treatment and control of lymphedema.
