Profile

Wei Wei Qian trained in Hang Zhou, China, as a doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine and worked for 7 years in the Red Cross Hospital. She practised acupuncture and herbal medicine in the department of gynaecology, internal medicine and orthopaedics and has also trained Western Acupuncture students.

Wei Wei has been practising in Melbourne since 1990 and successfully treats conditions such as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, hay fever, digestive problems, sports injuries and stress related conditions. She also specialises in the treatment of fertility problems, gynaecological disorders, specifically benefiting patients suffering from PMS and menopausal symptoms. Wei Wei's extensive clinical experience assures an optimal outcome for most conditions that have been challenged by more mainstream approaches.

How can Acupuncture help?

Many people come to acupuncture for help with a specific symptom or condition like:
  • infertility
  • IVF supporting treatment
  • menstrual problems
  • menopause
  • anxiety
  • arthritis
  • asthma
  • back pain
  • circulatory problems
  • depression
  • facial paralysis
  • fibrosis
  • migraines
  • sciatica
  • skin conditions
  • sinus problems
  • fatigue
  • ulcers
  • anxiety
  • arthritis
  • ulcers

Acupuncture effectively helps these and many other conditions. However, good acupuncture does more than simply treat the problem. It is a wholistic treatment directed at restoring the overall balance and deals with the conditions and also helps the patient feel better in a general way. Hence the frequent comment “I’m feeling better in myself”, refers to things like increased energy and vitality, greater enjoyment of life, greater confidence, better sleep etc.

This approach, where the whole person as well as the symptoms are taken into consideration, is integral to traditional Acupuncture. It is contrasted with symptomatic approach that treats the symptoms of a condition rather than addressing the cause and overall well being of the person and ignores the overall energy imbalance.

Wei Wei has been successfully treating conditions such as :

  • Infertility
  • IVF support
  • Menopause symptoms
  • Gynaecological disorders (e.g. Infertility, period problems)
  • Hay fever
  • Migraine and headaches
  • PMS
  • Sports injuries
  • Back and neck muscles and joint pains
  • Chronic fatigue syndromes
  • Digestive disorders
  • Assisting weight-loss
  • Stress related conditions
  • Insomnia
