SERVICES

Profile

Hi, I am a qualified Remedial Therapist and have been in practice for 17 years. I am a member of the A.T.M.S and health fund rebates are available for my service through most health funds.

As a Remedial Therapist I have worked on a wide range of people . Mothers, office workers, sports people, trades people and people that have been involved in motor accidents. Also people with muscular-skeletal pain relating from incorrect posture, repetitive strain from overuse , sciatica and sporting injury.

Remedial massage

Remedial massage is very effective in relieving pain and tension within muscles. Whether the pain is a direct result of injury or has resulted because of overuse or repetitive strain, incorrect posture or from sporting events / or injury.

Remedial massage relaxes and stretches the muscles. Specific massage techinques are used to promote healing and pain relief. Trigger points are used on specific receptor sites within the muscles and tendon area of the muscle to relax and relieve tension within the muscles. Gentle stretching and strenghtening exercises are recommended where appropriate. Remedial massage is specific to the area of pain / and or injury.

Therapeutic massage

Therapeutic massage is also available for general relaxation and wellbeing. This massage uses trigger points, stretching and massaging of the muscles. It is more a relaxing style of massage where as Remedial is more specific to a particular area of injury.

Reflexology

Reflexology is avaiable for general relaxation and overall health benefits. Reflexology uses specific points and meridians on the feet to promote good health and vitality. The treatment lasts for 60 minutes and is specific to the feet.

Swedish Massage

Swedish massage is very relaxing and promotes circulation to tired muscles relieving tension held within the muscles. The increased circulation helps by providing the muscles with oxygen and other nutrients. Also stimulating the lymphatic system to carry away normal cellular by products produced by normal muscular function. Swedish massage can help a wide range of compliants from bronchitis to fuild retention. The treatment is usually more a full body massage but can be applied just to the back if more suitable to the clients needs.

Aromatherapy

Essential oils are used in the massage treatments. Different essential oils are used for each client depending on their individual needs. Therapuetic blends are mixed to enhance the massasge treatment and aid in many health related problems that present, from mucsular tension, bronchitis or to aid in general relaxation.
