    About Michelle

    Michelle’s passion is in facilitating powerful transformation, and pragmatic solutions. With 10 years experience, she has also taught at the Australian College of Complementary Medicine.

    Change is what Michelle has lived. She grew up in two different countries, in the East and the West. She also became a social worker halfway through her management and law degree (which she later completed). As a social worker, she worked extensively with clients in family violence and problem gambling. Years later, Michelle graduated at the top of her class in Holistic Kinesiology. These changes and experiences now inform and deepen her work with clients.

    Today, Michelle is a warm and gentle practitioner with a gift in connecting with the heart of the matter. She has a general practice, as well as specialising in relationships, family dynamics, and recovery from sexual assault and family violence.

    Michelle’s training is in Holistic Kinesiology, counselling, nutrition, NLP, Chinese Medicine acupressure therapy, anatomy & physiology, flower essences, and energy work.

    Case Study: Alicia

    When Alicia (not her real name) first came to see Michelle, she had just ended a relationship, suffered insomnia, and was still grieving from her father's death 6 months prior. She had also just moved in with her mother and was challenged the feeling that she had lost her independence.

    Alicia was in her thirties, dressed in a very feminine way and demonstrated a reasonable level of self-awareness.

    After the first session, Alicia was sleeping better having worked through more of her grieving process, and also resolved the trauma of having previously been in an abusive relationship. The altered behavioural patterns lingering from that relationship were also realised, and shifted.

    In this, and all subsequent sessions, Michelle used a combination of counselling, kinesiology, acupoint therapy, flower essences and neuro-linguistic programming (NLP). She worked on Alicia’s mental and behavioural patterns, as well as Alicia’s energetic system through a Chinese Medicine and Vedic approach.

    In the second session, Michelle worked with Alicia on her fear of being tied down and trapped, as well as her need to be loved. In the third session, Alicia learnt about valuing her true self, and started to imagine the type of relationship she really wanted. During the session, Alicia made the connection between the love she wanted from others, and the love that she could have for herself. At the end of the session, she was starting to figure out what a practical self-love might be like.

    Alicia came to the fourth session talking about her new insights about the neediness she experienced when flirting with men, and her need for validation. During the session, she understood that her pattern of not valuing her true self was causing her to “settle” for men that were not appropriate partners because she was “just taking what (she) could get.” She understood that if she valued her self, she could sit with herself and be happy with what she could do with herself – rather than be heavily influenced by others because she wanted to be loved.

    Alicia returned to the fifth session feeling much more freedom with her interactions with men. She said: “I’m seeing people when I’m not in a needy space. I’m a whole person. I’ve got all of this to offer someone, but I don’t need a guy. I’m in a cool place.” In that session, Michelle worked with Alicia on her beliefs that “I’m not going to get what I really want” (what’s important to me) in terms of a relationship, and more broadly, her career and her future. Michelle also worked aspects of Alicia’s relationship with her mother, which was connected to that belief.

    When Alicia came to the next session, she described her perception of her mother in a very different way. “I see her for who she really is, and not as someone who’s there to hold me back.”

    In that session, Michelle worked with Alicia on her concerns that men she liked just wanted to have sex with her, and did not want to know who she really is. She also had fears that men would not want to be with her if she was expressing her authentic self. At the end of the session with Michelle, Alicia felt much more empowered in her sexuality, as well as other forms of self-expression.

    This was Michelle’s final session with Alicia. A follow up call revealed that Alicia started a long-term relationship very soon after. Alicia described the relationship as the “real deal.” She said “he loves me exactly how I want to be loved.” She had also moved out from her mother’s house and into a new home she had bought.

    What happens in a session?

    There are 3 main aspects of Michelle’s work:

    1. Setting a goal or an intention
    2. Removing blocks
    3. Building strengths

    1. Setting a goal or intention

    Michelle asks you what you truly want. Setting a goal or intention provides direction, clarity and passion.

    Michelle explores this with you. She encourages you to work deeply, and more thoroughly on the heart of the matter - so that your treatment outcomes are also deeper, and more thorough. Sometimes, the heart of the matter is about how you've always lived your life, your core beliefs and deep patterns... in other words, your life lesson.

    You achieve much more when you do this foundational work with Michelle. The rewards will be more than just a band aid. They will significantly and deeply change your life and your being.

    This process connects you with the motivation to be the person you truly want to be. It gives you the momentum towards living the life you want to live.

    This initial part of the work with Michelle can be exciting, and also confronting. Sometimes, you are being asked if you are prepared to let go of the core beliefs and habits that you have held for many years. Mostly, you are being asked if you would like to try something else... something that works better for you… from the greater range of options you will identify working with Michelle.


    2. The Practicalities: Removing Blocks

    When you set out to achieve big and significant goals, you often find obstacles along the way.

    These obstacles can stem from your:

  • Habitual reactions & thought patterns (core beliefs & deep patterns)
  • Survival reactions such as: fight/flight (over-aggression or withdrawal)
  • Nutritional habits (allergies, intolerances, deficiencies)
  • Physical imbalances (hormonal, muscular, postural)
  • Or a combination of these.

    Michelle pinpoints these obstacles, and then helps you resolve them.

    Michelle holds a space for you work through any potentially confronting process. And she is particularly gifted at doing so. She will help you to move with and beyond each obstacle, and to be kind to yourself in the process.
