I'm a Reiki Master/Teacher in the Usui Reiki System of Natural Healing, with a Diploma in Professional Counselling, and certification in Clinical Hypnotherapy.
I am an Australian Reiki Connection (ARC) Master/Teacher, as well as being a member of the Association of Australian Reiki Professionals (AARP).
The two main reasons for doing what I'm doing are:
(1) my belief in wellness centres on assuming responsibility for healing the Self, and
(2) creating the ripple effect that anyone can do it.
Healing allows aspects of the mental, emotion and spiritual to come to a point of balance that enables the physical to begin restoring wellness. A healer can only assist. Ultimately, we have to take the healing journey ourselves,
That was the intent of the original Mikao Usui's system of healing, now called Reiki, which focused on personal and spiritual development. Treating others was a by-product of Usui's method of natural healing.
I believe in taking care of the wellness of the Self, before taking care of others. Assuming responsibility for self-care is crucial in the awakening of the spiritual Self. When you have created the intention to accept the power of healing yourself, you raise your own energy level, enabling you to become an instrument for healing others. This will remain the focus across all levels of my Reiki teachings.
Reiki is my one and only focus, although I do use some of my training in other areas to facilitate a more holistic healing approach with my clients.
I teach Reiki Levels 1, 2 and 3 in the Usui Shiki Ryoho system of natural healing. My workshops are mainly on a one-on-one basis, as I like to gear them to suit the individual. It may be that the student requires more intuitive work, needing additional techniques for self-healing, wanting to include Reiki as part of an holistic approach to wellness, or wanting to work with pets. There is a wide range of reasons why a person wants to learn Reiki.
