Why Gita Style Hatha Yoga?
Gita Style Hatha Yoga is more than just physical exercise. As well as toning and strengthening the physical body, it also balances the emotions, calms the mind, and enhances our ability to cope with stress; all leading to improve our quality of life. There are many styles of Hatha yoga, all with a different focus. What makes Gita style so effective is that it works at balancing the hormones.
Class Content
In a Gita class you will enjoy being guided through limbering, breathing exercises (Pranayama), yoga postures (asanas), meditation and relaxation.
It is not just a “follow the teacher” class. You will be given reasons as to why we do what we do, and the effects and benefits to expect.
Hormones?
Most people know a bit about hormones, but did you know that they control us, physically, mentally, emotionally (and spiritually)? Our lives are ruled and run via our endocrine/hormonal system. Our hormones govern everything from blood pressure, speed of metabolism, aging, digestion, how we feel, interact and respond, our thoughts (be they positive or negative), and our sense of peace and wellbeing, etc.
Who you are, how you act, what you look like, are all governed by our hormones. If you really want to make changes in your life - rebalance your hormones.

As well as definitely improving the physical - creating a stronger, more resilient, healthy body - emotional patterns are balanced and stabilized so that we may deal with life much more easily, enthusiastically, intelligently and joyfully.
Gita Yoga is brilliant for strengthening spines, toning muscles, improving joint mobility, reducing stress/anxiety levels, migraines, menopause, mid-life (or any time of life) crises, asthma, blood pressure problems, infertility... as well as any other imbalance the physical body can display.
Basically, because yoga works on the whole body, bringing the whole body into a better state of balance, it can therefore help us with any health imbalances... and our attitude towards them.
