The Benefits of MassageSome scientific studies show that massage can reduce pain, fatigue, anxiety, depression, nausea. Other benefits may include improvements in sleep, neuropathy (nerve damage or disturbance), quality of life, mental clarity and alertness, meaningful social interaction.
Massage and Touch Therapies for people with cancer There are many styles of massage and other touch therapies that are commonly used for people with cancer or recovering from it. The key to a beneficial treatment is not the type of therapy but the therapist's ability to adjust the session, depending on a person's medical history, age, constitution and individual requests.
Another benefit of massage is reducing lymphoedema, which is swelling in tissue. Massage needs to be light, and ideally is part of a manual lymphatic drainage or total lymphatic drainage treatment, performed by therapists qualified in these techniques.

Located in Belgrave we are open on Monday, Thursday and Friday from 9.00am until 7.00pm and on Saturday from 9.00am until 12.30pm. Appointments are necessary so please give us a call and we will be delighted to discuss your specific needs with you.
About Geoff Bell Geoff has practiced as a remedial massage therapist in a number of Chiropractic and Osteopathy clinics as well as a home clinic since December 2006. Geoff is trained in cancer massage and massage for people with life threatening illnesses at Petrea Kings Quest for Life Centre in Bundanoon, Southern Highlands NSW Geoff has worked casually at the Gawler Foundation for over 18 months as a massage therapist and works 2 days a week at Eastern Palliative Care providing massage to palliative clients in their homes.
Through community support groups Geoff has also worked in both client homes and nursing homes providing massage to clients with Alzheimer's, dementia, MS/MND and other life threatening illnesses Geoff is also the Head Trainer at his local football and cricket clubs since 2002.
