The ways that we can work.

Soul Centered Psychotherapy (SCP) is about finding out what really gives you meaning in your life so that you can live life in the way that you want.

Depending on you and what your goals are, there are a variety of ways to approach any issue. I work with the understanding that your mind, body and soul are interconnected.

I will employ a variety of techniques to ensure that the process is never overwhelming. In this way, positive change and healing can occur in the manner best suited to you.

SCP is a way of working that focuses on all aspects of your life: thoughts, emotions, body sensations or symptoms, dreams and relationships. It is a therapy practice built around you.


My thoughts on Soul Centered Psychotherapy.

Therapy is so many different things to so many different people. It can be a journey of self discovery and a path to individual expression.

I don’t believe that therapy is about ‘fixing’ our lives. Instead, it can be about learning to trust and heal ourselves. Taking the time to recognise our courage, our strengths, our instincts, our feelings, our wounds, our fears, and our dreams so that we can live life in the way that we want.

As a Soul Centred Psychotherapist I believe that within ourselves we all have the innate capacity to heal and make sense of our own life struggles. It is just that most of us have not been given the opportunity to recognise and use these resources.

Therapy can be about you taking the opportunity to know that healing part of yourself - uncovering it from the layers of self-doubt, self-criticisms, fears, and anxieties.

There is no right way or wrong way of doing therapy. There is only you and your story (and perhaps the story behind the story).

Some therapeutic techniques…


Bi-Lateral Stimulation Processing (BLSP)

BLSP has arisen out of the research stimulated by mind/body approaches to healing, including EMDR, NLP, and energy psychology.

BLSP is a powerful way of discovering and removing the negative thought patterns that you have about yourself. Once these negative beliefs have been resolved, you will discover more reasons and more ways of thinking positively about yourself and improving your self-confidence. BSLP will also reinforce these new thoughts and ways of being into your mind/body system.

BLSP is also the most effective way of working through trauma (both recent and historical) so that you no longer have to suffer the emotional consequences and can move forward in your life.

BLSP incorporates muscle testing, sound therapy and eye movements. It opens up a way of accelerated information processing in the mindbody for healing trauma, character structure patterns, disruptive beliefs and behaviours.

Trance

Clients always request more of this!

Trance work is a powerful method of making changes in your thinking by communicating directly with your unconscious mind. You can use it to discover creative solutions to problems and inhibiting behaviours that seem stuck. It is especially helpful when your conscious mind (that’s your thinking, rational mind) seems to have exhausted every possible solution it can think of.

Trance work is an easy and enjoyable way for;
* Relaxing
* Improving your sleep
* Building your own inner sanctuary of safety, and
* Experiencing a deeper connection with the part of you that knows what is best for the whole of
who you are.

Thought Matrix Meridian Therapy (TMMT)


TMMT is based on current research in mind/body healing and incorporates meridian tapping and muscle testing to target;

* Phobias,
* Negative thought patterns,
* Anxiety,
* Trauma and more.

It is similar to other approaches that have arisen from this research, such as TFT, EFT, etc, which make the premise that all illness is due to a disruption in the body’s energy system.

TMMT is a very practical way of working that you can learn to do at home away from therapy to support all the positive changes that are going on in your mind/body system.

It is especially useful when you can sense that you are getting stressed or anxious or becoming overwhelmed with emotion. It can help calm your nervous system down and give you room to think about what is really going on so that you can respond to the situation in a way that is the most helpful.

Dreams


Working with the symbols presented in your dreams allows you to come to a greater connection with your inner soul journey as opposed to only being lead by the things you think you ‘should’ be doing.

It is often a very rich, rewarding and intimate experience as you discover a world of myth and archetype mingled into your own personal story. This has the potential to add a greater sense of meaning and purpose to your life.

When you work with Dreams you will have the opportunity to write stories, draw, paint, build with clay and recognize symbols from your dreams in everyday life.

Working with Parts


This is body of work that has arisen out of the studies of Gestalt Therapy - the understanding being that if you are able to see all of the ‘parts’ of yourself you will be able to see your whole life more clearly.

This work is useful to identify the parts of yourself that inhibit growth and change. It provides a way to initiate conversation with these parts so you can;

* Have a greater sense of ease within yourself
* Understand yourself better,
* Know what your emotions are trying to tell you, and
* To identify positive voices within you that have not been given the space or
encouragement to come to the forefront of you life yet.

Working with Ritual


This is way of working which allows you to honour and ground the difficult and magnificent periods of change in your life. It can give you an experiential understanding of your life journey working with selected chapters of your past, present and future.

It offers a powerful framework to work with many aspects of your life. Some examples are
* The start or end of relationships,
* The loss of a loved one,
* Anger directed at the past, and/or
* Mid life change.
