Natural Fertility Management
Falling pregnant is not always easy…
Having a baby is a precious gift and conceiving should be an easy, natural process. Sadly for many couples it is an extremely distressing experience as they struggle to conceive and/or maintain a pregnancy. The causes of infertility are many and varied, and affect both females and males. Sometimes the man’s sperm count is too low; sometimes there is a hormonal imbalance in one or both partners and sometimes there may be no obvious reason at all.

Perhaps stress is making it difficult for you to conceive?
Have you ever noticed that it is often when a couple stops trying to conceive, and they start to relax, that they fall pregnant? The impact of stress on infertility cannot be underestimated. In fact, stress actually inhibits the reproductive system; so if you are stressed, this may affect your ability to have a baby.

At Myddfai Wellness Clinic, Kerryn specialise in helping you and your partner to prepare for a healthy pregnancy by balancing your hormones, reducing your stress and helping you become as healthy as possible. Kerryn also offer detoxification programs that improve liver clearance of hormones and toxins that may impair fertility.

Are your hormones out of balance?
Hormonal imbalances can be a significant factor in infertility. Basically, without the right balance of hormones, it is extremely difficult to conceive. Fortunately, we have had great success using combinations of herbs and nutrients that will balance your hormones and improve fertility.

The subject of infertility is often stressful and can be overwhelming for couples who are struggling to have a baby. We are committed to working with you and your doctor to help you to have the baby you so desperately yearn for. If you are experiencing difficulties with fertility, please come in and see us today for your free information on pre-conception care and natural support of your reproductive health.

Hormone Imbalance
Are you at the mercy of your hormones?

Are your hormones ruining your life? Does your monthly cycle wreak havoc on your relationships? It is estimated that as many as 90% of menstruating women are experiencing a hormonal disorder that affects them on a regular basis. This includes conditions such as painful periods, heavy periods, endometriosis, uterine fibroids and polycystic ovarian syndrome and infertility. As well as the physical symptoms such as pain, weight gain, sleep disturbances and headaches, your hormonal balance also has a strong effect on our mood and energy. Imbalances in your hormones can affect your memory and ability to think clearly; your libido; your relationships; your happiness and sometimes even your career. I have met many women whose partner’s dread the monthly cycle, and I am surprised there are so many women who find it necessary to have many days away from work due to challenging hormones.

Your hormones undoubtedly have a major influence on your life; however there is no need for you to be at the mercy of our hormones!

Restoring balance, health and vitality to all our body systems, including our hormonal and reproductive system can be achieved when we find out and address the cause of your symptoms.

Oestrogen is produced by the ovaries and exists in different forms within the body. One of these forms is good for the body and is essential for healthy bones, skin and vitality; the other is not and is associated with an increased risk of breast cancer, endometriosis, uterine fibroids and PCOS. When the body does not keep these two forms in the correct balance, the body can develop what is known as “oestrogen dominance” which may result in the following symptoms:
• Bloating or fluid retention • Heavy or irregular menses • Fatigue or lack of energy
• Sugar cravings & Weight gain • Mood swings and irritability • Sleep disturbances
• Night sweats • Headaches • Loss of libido

Luckily there are many ways we can naturally help to maintain a healthy balance. Learning how to address the factors that lead to oestrogen dominance can make such a difference to restoring balance to your reproductive system. Don’t become a slave to your hormones – take control of them! Come and see me for a confidential consultation to discuss the range of options available to help you achieve hormonal harmony. Just imagine the difference it could make to your life.

Hormone and Thyroid Imbalance
Tired, Depressed and Gaining Weight? Could it be your thyroid?

Ever wondered why some people seem to bounce off the walls, never sleep and don’t gain weight no matter how much they eat; while you struggle to get going and find that you continue to gain weight even though you follow the strictest of diets? Perhaps it has something to do with your hormones!

Feeling tired, cold and depressed or experiencing hormonal imbalances, weight gain and irritability can all be attributed to an under-active thyroid. It is also common to experience dry skin and hair, poor memory and concentration or digestive problems when affected by a sluggish thyroid. Many women also experience infertility, menstrual abnormalities, loss of libido or headaches.

Hypothyroidism is a state of under-activity of the thyroid gland with an underproduction of thyroid hormone – as if the beat that is keeping your body functions in rhythm is too slow.

Perhaps stress is slowing you down?
Stress is also an important factor to consider, as excessive stress will hinder the way your thyroid works. But each person reacts to stress differently. By finding out your individual stress pattern we can individualise your treatment by using different combinations of well researched nutritional and herbal medicines specific to helping to rebalance these patterns.

Get Your Beat Back Today!
By combining the wisdom of nutrition and herbal medicine I can assist in the management of thyroid conditions, helping you feel your best. If you feel that you have lost your Rock ‘n’ Roll, or your metabolism is functioning too fast or too slow, please call to arrange aConfidential consultation to discover your options for getting your beat back.

Fatigue
Are you sick and tired of being sick and tired?
Do you jump out of bed every morning with a spring in your step? Or do you drag your body out of bed and struggle through your day? With our stressful, busy lives, many people are tired. Increasingly though, I am finding that persistent tiredness is becoming a major problem for many people If you have to drag yourself out of bed and struggle through your day, then you it is time you did something about it!

Fatigue is a very common presenting complaint, but it is also often misunderstood, and at times even dismissed, particularly if there is no easily identifiable cause. So many patients I see in our clinic have suffered ongoing fatigue, despite having all their usual test results coming back ‘normal’. They come to our clinic feeling sick and tired of feeling tired and sick!.

What causes fatigue?
I believe that to achieve real, long lasting improvements in your energy levels you must first find out why you are so tired. There are so many factors that may contribute to fatigue including:

• Nutritional deficiencies
• Inflammation
• Infection
• Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO)
• Digestion, liver issues and malabsorption
• Hormonal imbalances
• Unstable blood sugars
• Stress (physical and emotional)
• Toxicity
• Mitochondrial dysfunction
• Poor sleep

Clearly, there are many reasons why you may feel fatigued. Essentially, when your body systems are not working at their optimum levels, this can affect you both physically and mentally - ultimately affecting all facets of your life. This is why it is important you talk to someone who can help you to quickly uncover the reasons why you are so tired, and help to get you back to feeling your vibrant self.

Unfortunately I find that many people waste their money taking all varieties of supplements trying to resolve the tiredness, without knowing what they actually need. At the Myddfai Wellness Centre we take particular care in examining your health in detail, helping you to discover the real causes. We have the ability to pinpoint the source through professional investigations such as Kinesiology, Functional Pathology Testing (such as salivary hormone analysis) and Hemaview Microscopy – where we can show you your own blood (magnified) live on screen. This approach is fast, effective, painless, scientifically proven and totally amazing. You will see and feel the difference we can make to your health.

Imagine the difference energy and vitality will make to your life. By properly finding and treating the cause of your tiredness we can boost your energy production and give you back your zest for life! If fatigue is an issue for you, then talk to us today.

Digestive Disorders
An embarrassing issue?
Common digestive disorders such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Diverticulitis, Bad Breath and Constipation or Diarrhoea can be associated with allergies and reactions to foods that you eat, but they can also exacerbated by stress, infection and even foods that you don’t eat! ‘We are What We Eat’, but more importantly ‘We are What We Digest!’. There is little benefit from eating a wholesome diet, if it is not digested and absorbed, but goes on to ferment and putrefy in the gut!

Our digestive system is a complex system which relies on a delicate balance of bacteria, enzymes and digestive secretions. These elements can all be disturbed or put out of balance by stress, infection, medications or even from the foods in our diet.

Many people think they are eating a well balanced diet, when in fact, they have quite an imbalanced diet, high in foods which disrupt the normal pH balance of the gut and which promote the growth of ‘bad’ bacteria, whilst too low in the important components which help to regulate bowel movements and stimulate the digestive system to digest and absorb our food.

Do you realise that your gut harbours up to 3 kilograms of bacteria!
These bacteria produce vitamins, detoxify chemicals, influence cholesterol and hormonal balance, regulate the immune function and prevent the overgrowth of pathogens. It is therefore vital that you consume foods which will nourish the good bacteria, and avoid those foods which will cause the ‘bad’ bacteria to thrive.

Never before have we been so aware of the importance restoring internal balance.

High levels of ‘bad’ bacteria cause gut inflammation. When your gut wall is inflamed, you reduce the amount of nutrients that can be absorbed, whilst increasing the amount of toxins which are absorbed, fatigue, headaches, irritability and further digestive symptoms. High levels of ‘bad’ bacteria have also been linked to systemic inflammation, autoimmunity, asthma, eczema and poor immunity. There is also more recent research linking gut dysbiosis to type II diabetes, obesity and heart disease!! However the commonly held belief that simply popping a pill of ‘good’ bacteria will fix the imbalance is not true.

Fortunately, at Myddai Wellness Centre we can suggest safe, effective solutions to digestive dysfunctions. Correcting gut function and balancing your diet can usually be address within weeks, meaning you could be happier and healthier in no time. We want to help you say good-bye to embarrassing moments caused by poor digestive function, so you can be once again be confident, vibrant, self-assured and happy. Let us help you to live the life you deserve. If it has been some time since you truly felt really healthy, then perhaps it is time to talk to us.

Testing Available Includes studies such as...
The Complete Digestive Stool Analysis (CDSA).
This is a functional test that provides an overview of your digestion, absorption, intestinal function and good bacteria levels, as well as identifying pathogenic bacteria, parasites and yeasts. Poor digestive function and imbalanced gut bacteria levels may play a crucial role in the underlying cause of a number of health conditions. Symptoms of poor gut function include constipation, diarrhoea, flatulence, bloating, abdominal discomfort and bad breath.

Salivary Hormone Testing
Hormones play a vital role in maintaining health and vitality. By finding out your exact hormone levels can help us to identify many health related conditions. Research shows that salivary hormone testing provides an accurate assessment of hormone status in both men and women of all ages. Many factors contribute to imbalanced hormone levels. These include environmental factors (e.g. chemical exposure and pesticides), lifestyle factors (e.g. smoking, alcohol, lack of exercise, poor diet) and specific conditions (e.g. infertility, endometriosis, enlarged prostate etc). Saliva testing is non-invasive and designed so that you can collect the specimen(s) in the privacy of your own home.

Food Allergy Testing
Sensitivities to foods and chemicals can cause a wide range of symptoms and disorders. The substances that cause these reactions are often hard to diagnose because sometimes the reaction is delayed by several hours, or even days after eating the food. Our Naturopaths offer professional testing for detecting the foods and chemicals causing this response. The results are specific to you and can provide an easy, precise and effective starting point for making the changes that will get you well again.

Other tests available include Celiac testing, Helicobactor Pylori Testing, Candida testing, Heavy Metal testing Thyroid Hormone Testing and Sleep hormone (Melatonin) Profiling.

Testimonials
Read what some of our clients have to say…

I found the herbs have worked exceedingly well. My general health and mindset have been much improved. Thanks.
Fiona.

After spending approximately two years trying to find an answer to my health problems I was starting to get very frustrated. Using GP’s and conventional methods just wasn’t working and one GP even told me that it was all in y mind and there was nothing wrong with me. After talking to a close family friend I decided to take their advice and mad et he call to Kerryn’s practice. I have to say that this was the turning point in my life as the results after one month of following her advice were amazing. A simple thing like changing m diet made such difference to the way I felt that I’ve continued with her plan for three years now and feel great. I have real pleasure in telling my friends and work mates about my outstanding improvement as well as my whole family are now in her care and the results are just terrific. We were told by a GP that problems like a planters wart and bad breath were there forever only to have them gone completely with Kerryn’s treatment. I can’t speak highly enough of the results that we’ve experienced, just keep up the good work.

Warren
