Chiropractic is based on the scientific fact that your body is a self - regulating, self-healing organism. These important functions are controlled by the brain, spinal cord, and all the nerves of the body.
Dr Leeks practices a gentle and far advanced and effective form of chiropractic therapy known as
"Sacro Occipital Technique" or S.O.T.
What is Sacro Occipital Technique S.O.T.?
S.O.T is a method of normalizing the relationship between the foundation of the spine (sacrum) and the top of the (occiput). It is this relationship and how these two bones get along with one another that has been proven to be so important in the normal functioning of the brain and spinal cord. S.O.T. also recognizes the important role of normal cranial function in health and disease. The cranial bones and other cranial structures can cause central nervous system problems that are often overlooked or ignored by most other chiropractic systems.

Dr Leeks has been practicing for 18 years and has established a number or clinics around Australia. Dr Leeks predominantly uses 2 techniques to evaluate and treat her clients. She specialises in providing expert Chiropractic care for individuals who require a softer, less forceful adjustment procedure.
Dr Leeks works a great deal with the soft tissues of the body that is, muscles and ligaments, and the organ systems. She uses a system for identifying organ dysfunction and the nutritional requirements of the body specific to the individual.
The 2 techniques Dr Leeks uses are; Sacro-Occipital Technique (S.O.T.) and Applied Kinesiology (A.K.)
Sacro-Occipita! Technique jSQ.Tjjs an advancement on Cranio-Sacral Therapy arid identifies problems affecting the dural membrane layer around the Spinal Cord.
In the words of Dr J. Howat in his book “The Anatomy and Physiology of Sacro-Occipital Technique”“Sacro Occipital Technique is a comprehensive technique which uses body indicators in a concise and chronological process for determining skeletal, cranial, neurological and visceral malfunctions- This incorporates specific techniques which address clinical changes in extremities, pelvic and spinal biomechanics (Category System), visceral complexities (C.M.R.T — chiropractic manIpulative reflex technique), cranial distortions (sutural, cranial specific and non specifics, cranial intra-oral specifics), temporo mandibular joint dysfunction (T.MJ. — incorporating dental malocclusion), paediati ics (learning disabilities — dyslexia and dyspraxia) and nutrition. Once the analytical paradigm has been established the treatment protocol is implemented on a visit to visit basis.”
Applied Kineslology is a system for evaluating body function using the technique of muscle testing. Techniques used widely in Applied Kinesiology evaluation and treatment are: adjustment for the spinal column and mzinipulation of extraspinal articulations along with nutritional therapy, evaLuation of the cranio-sacral respiratory system and nerve receptor treatment.
Applied Kineslology evaluates the functioning of an organ and therefore if a gland is not working as effectively as It should it is said to be functioning below its normal efficiency. This does not mean the organ or gland Is necessarily diseased but will of course have an overall impact on body health.
Applied Kinesiology recognises that the body is a self-maintaining, self-correcting mechanism- When health is lost something is interfering with the body’s adaptability and it is unable to cope with the different environmental stressors.
The examiner directs effort toward finding the cause of the dysfunction and then, once this has been determined, what will aid the body in its return to excellent health.
Both these techniques are excellent for any kind of muscle-skeletal pain e.g. Whiplash, Headaches, Sciatica, Low back pain, Thoracic pain, Shoulder, Hip, Arm-leg problems and TMJ Gaw) problems, to name a few.
