Natural Balance Centre offers a full Pilates Studio, a cosy Yoga Room, and skilled Therapists in Physiotherapy, Acupuncture & Massage. The centre is the creation of Claire Donoghue, a Physiotherapist & Pilates instructor, & Adam Donoghue, a yoga enthusiast. Claire & Adam have long enjoyed integrating Pilates and Yoga into their daily lives.

  • We have small classes (maximum of ten), this means more feedback and better group cohesiveness.

    Why choose us for Physiotherapy or Massage?

    Claire Donoghue is an experienced musculoskeletal physiotherapist who has specialised in spinal alignment and restoring bio-mechanics of the body. She has a unique approach to recovery through specific movement strengthening and balancing in the body. She is currently Tasmania's only teacher of the 'BASI' Pilates method (a holistic whole body method). She has had much success with many long-term injured clients with her combined Physio-Pilates approach.

    "I had a serious back injury 15 years ago and went from surfing every day and being really strong, to not being able to surf at all without
    having severe pain for a month. From the time of my injury I got used to having pain all day in my back and down my leg and was on a constant dose of painkillers to do everyday activities. I was told by numerous specialists that I would never do anything physical again,
    and that I should accept a pain management plan of medications.

    I had tried Pilates for several years with a few different instructors but it wasn’t until I started Pilates at Natural Balance that I really started to get results. I stopped having pain every day with normal activities and started surfing again. I don’t take any pain relief medications any more. My quality of life, confidence and body image have all improved 100%.

    Andrew Hutton is an Accredited Sports Physiotherapist. He has also practiced traditional acupuncture and dry needling in a Physiotherapy environment for over 16 years and has been one of Australia’s leading educators of Physiotherapists in these fields for many years. He works with an emphasis on a pro-active, client based approach to treatment where patient education and participation are complemented by accurate diagnostic skills, excellent hands on technique, and exercise prescription. Clients are offered advice regarding postural, bio-mechanical and technique improvements, activity or sporting techniques and lifestyle factors which may assist in addressing their needs.

    Nicole Clarke offers a variety of relaxing massage treatments from hot stone, swedish, aromatherapy and pregnancy. . Enter into our massage room; relax in a tranquil, serene environment where you can drift off to somewhere else & come back de-stressed and recharged. Nicole's difference is in her genuine care for her clients.

Every step of the way we are taking the most environmentally sensitive approach in the running of Natural Balance Centre.
