Experienced Acupuncturist Louise Jeffrey uses Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine to assist with conception (either with or without IVF), throughout pregnancy, and in preparing for birth or dealing with pregnancy-related issues.

If you find yourself challenged with fertility issues, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has been proven to improve your chances of conceiving. In TCM, sub-fertility is seen as an energetic imbalance within the body which needs to be addressed. Acupuncture is used to return the body back to its natural balanced state, offering it the best possible opportunity to conceive and to produce healthy children.

Acupuncture is now commonly used to improve the chances of conception during IVF, and recent studies have shown an increase in pregnancy success rates where IVF recipients have received acupuncture during treatment. Treatment is focused on improving ovarian function, strengthening the immune system, reducing stress, regulating hormones, relaxing the uterus, maintaining implantation, nourishing embryo growth and preventing uterine contractions, and improving semen quality and quantity in men.

Acupuncture is safe and effective throughout pregnancy in treating issues such as nausea, sciatica, carpal tunnel syndrome, anxiety, fatigue, acid reflux, oedema, and much more. It is also used to turn breech babies, and pre-birth acupuncture treatment increases the chance of achieving a natural birth with little intervention, and reducing average labour time.

Louise Jeffrey is an experienced, qualified and recognised Acupuncturist, who specialises in the treatment of fertility, pregnancy and post-natal care. Louise runs two busy practices in North Sydney and East Lindfield, and also works part time for AcuIVF Support, a clinic specialising in the treatment (with acupuncture) of men and women undergoing IVF.

Louise has three small children of her own, so she understands not only the demands of being a parent, but also what a privilege it is to be able to carry a child and give birth. This understanding, coupled with the benefits that Traditional Chinese Medicine offers, allows her the opportunity to help restore balance to your body, in the most effective yet natural way. This will help to maximise your chances of conception, resulting in a healthy and happy pregnancy, birth and baby.

Louise trained at the London College of Traditional Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in London and graduated with a BSc Honours degree and Licentiate in Acupuncture from the University of Portsmouth. She is a member of ANTA which means she upholds a strict code of ethics and accountability. Louise is registered as a provider with all health funds that offer rebates for acupuncture.
