What is nutritional therapy?
Nutritional therapy is working with individuals to help maximise their health and prevent disease through dietary means.
Since you really are what you eat adjusting your nutrition can improve your health and change the way you feel.
At NewLeaf Nutrition a combination of knowledge, understanding and practical skills in changing and enhancing nutrition encourages the very best of health. This can lead to a greater sense of well being and an overall ‘feel good’ factor.
NewLeaf Nutrition can give you the tools you need to achieve a healthier body and lifestyle that you didn't know was possible.
Why do we need it?
The world in which we live is far removed from the environment of our ancestors. Our physiological needs have not significantly altered but our diets and lifestyle have. Change over time has coincided with increased obesity, declines in physical activity, the introduction of man made additives and the widespread industrial use of toxic chemicals. These can affect the way that our bodies function, particularly absorb necessary nutrients.
At NewLeaf Nutrition we can help you enhance the benefit of the food you eat to gain the true health that you deserve.
Health generation
Our health and that of our children is enormously important. What we eat can greatly impact on our health and learning. Understanding how to balance proteins, fats and carbohydrates and manage troublesome foods within our diets can enable us to develop good health and improve our personal productivity.
If you feel that you or your children could be in better health, consider nutritional therapy as an option.
At NewLeaf Nutrition ...
Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) is used to give you the tools to fine tune your life patterns so that you can focus on what is important to you and what you want.
At NewLeaf Nutrition we offer personal consultation services and follow up contact.
Prior to the consultation you are asked to complete a Health Questionnaire for you or your child. This allows the nutritionist to be better prepared for your consultation. During the consultation your health status and specific concerns will be discussed and assessed.
By examining your personal and family history and present lifestyle we can make an informed assessment of your health potential. This can guide you towards better health through diet and possible nutritional supplements.
A report of your first consultation will highlight issues and suggest strategies to improve your nutritional and health needs.

About me
I studied a Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Therapy in the UK whilst living in Europe with my husband and two children. I found my studies to be inspiring and fascinating. Having returned to Australia in 2005, my husband’s work brought us to Canberra and we have since moved to live at the foot of the Snowy Mountains, where I enjoy the space, views but not so much the cold.
I have been practicing Nutritional Therapy in Canberra for the last 5 years. Some of the issues I have had great success with include weight management, irritable bowel syndrome, cancer, diabetes, heart disease and food intolerances. My nutritional programmes are tailored to the individual with a holistic approach as food interactions can affect each individual differently.
I feel strongly that knowledge and understanding of the interaction of food on our bodies can empower us to make choices for a greater quality of life. The body as a whole, how we interact in the world around us and how the world affects us, influences the balance in our health. This is the challenge that we can work on together.
CONSULTATIONS
Nutritional Therapy includes a comprehensive initial consultation of up to 1½ hours. Prior to the consultation I ask that a Health Questionnaire be completed and brought to the consultation. (download form) During the consultation I explore the family history, personal health history and present health issues. This information is valuable in understanding the body processes and influences on health.
Review of a nutritional programme is conducted after 4-6 weeks depending on circumstances. This follow up consultation can take up to 45 minutes.
