A Naturopath can also help you to achieve and/or maintain a generally healthy lifestyle.
I want to have treatment for something that isn't listed above. Can a Naturopath still help me?
Everybody is different. It is best to contact a Naturopath to understand how to best approach treatment. If Naturopathic treatment is not right for you, appropriate recommendations or referrals will be made to ensure your health needs are assessed in the most efficient manner.
How do I know if I should see a Naturopath?
Only you will know this answer! If you feel this is the right option for you, it is best to contact a Naturopath that best suits your needs. Since you are discussing sensitive health information, choose someone that delivers what you would like from a therapeutic relationship. Someone who you are comfortable with and who respects you.
A good Naturopath knows their strengths and their limitations. If there is any part of the treatment which Sarah feels needs further attention, a referral to the appropriate professional will ensure your health is continually paid the attention it deserves.
What can I expect from a Naturopathic Consultation?
A good Naturopath will take about an hour of your time on the initial consultation to gain an understanding of your health needs, your current health status and what you hope to achieve from the session.
Your previous medical history, family medical history and any other health concerns you may have are documented. Your Naturopath will then ask questions about your diet, your sleep, energy levels and other lifestyle habits. All of this information is put together so as to create a whole picture of your health, and as a point of reference for future consultations.
During the consultation, you may have your blood pressure measured to further outline who you are and how your body functions.

Your Naturopath is there to work with you on the path to better health. Education is paramount to successfully achieve your health goals. Your Naturopath is your teacher and facilitator; however, this education will require implementation by you.
Your health is the most important asset you can own and will also require input from your end of the therapeutic relationship. This will empower you to create and achieve your own health goals.
Can I keep taking my regular medications if I see a Naturopath?
This depends on what your GP recommends and what you would like your Naturopath to help you with. Often it takes a team approach to assist in your health needs and every practitioner you see, including your GP, needs to know your current medications and supplements. It is always wise to consult with your GP if you are unsure.
A Naturopath will be able to optimise your treatment when they have the full picture of you and your health.
