WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM OSTEOPATHY?
Osteopathy can be used to treat children, adolescence, teenagers, adults to the elderly. It is a gentle and effective form of whole body treatment.
DO I NEED A REFERRAL TO VISIT AN OSTEOPATH?
NO, Osteopaths are primary care physicians and therefore you do not require a referral from a medical practitioner.
Osteopathic treatment is based on four principles
- The body is a unit
- The body has innate intelligence such as self healing, regulating and maintaining mechanisms
- Structure and function are inter-related
- Rational treatment is based on the understanding of the above principles
We use a hands-on approach to treatment from knowledge of anatomy and pathology to treat the whole body. Utilizing techniques such as soft tissue massage, MFR , exercises, stretching, spinal manipulation, balance ligamentous tension, cranial osteopathy to improve the body's function and self healing properties.
We have HICAPS and EFTPOS fascilities to make health fund rebates more convenient.
Osteopathy is covered by most PRIVATE HEALTH FUNDS, please check your level of cover.
WORKERS COMPENSATION
YES. Work cover authority recognizes registered osteopaths for
treatment of a workplace injury. Your osteopath will work together with your GP and case manager to help you return to work sooner.
MEDICARE (ENHANCE PRIMARY CARE SCHEME)
YES. Medicare recognizes government registered osteopaths for the treatment of patients under the Enhanced Primary Care scheme. A referral and evaluation from your GP is necessary.
