ABOUT CAROLYN

Carolyn has an Advanced Diploma of Homoeopathy, is a member of AROH (Australian Register of Homoeopaths), a Professional Member of the Australian Homoeopathic Association, a Certificate IV Workplace Trainer and Assessor and a qualified Remedial Massage Therapist. She has over 20 years experience in the complementary health therapies arena.

Her training includes the study of ‘Classical Homoeopathy’ with Dr. Isaac Golden, Ph.D.D.Hom, N.D., B.Ec. (Hon) of the Australasian College of Hahnemannian Homoeopathy (now part of Endeavour College), as well as the study of the more organ and disease specific approach to the treatment of disease with Dr. Parimal Banerji* in Calcutta, India. She undertook her medical sciences studies at James Cook University in Cairns.

HOMOEOPATHY JUST MAKES SENSE.......

Homoeopathy is a system of medicine based on the Law of Similars (what can make you sick can also make you well when given in minute doses). This is a Universal Law, formally recognised and discovered by Samuel Hahnemann, a German doctor, some 200 years ago. Since then, and as a result of his groundbreaking work, this Universal Law has been more fully understood and therapeutically applied as Homoeopathy. Homoeopathic medicines stimulate the Vital (or Life) Force to overcome the imbalance or illness by more strongly mimicking the symptoms of the disease, thereby causing the body to overcome the original imbalance. You could compare this to immunisation..... you give a minute dose of a substance which stimulates the body to react and overcome the bigger threat.

HOMOEOPATHY WORKS EQUALLY WELL, EITHER ALONE OR IN CONJUNCTION WITH OTHER HEALTHCARE TREATMENTS.......

There can be a belief amongst some that you cannot successfully undergo homoeopathic treatment if you are currently on pharmaceutical medication or receiving other forms of treatment. This is not the case. Homoeopathic medicines will still work effectively with other forms of medication (except perhaps some particular herbal preparations). You do not have to choose between 'one or the other'. The medicines will work gently and effectively alongside pharmaceutical medications and complement their action, if that is necessary or your choice. The medicines will have no adverse effect upon any pharmaceutical medications you may be taking, quite unlike some herbal preparations (a more well-known example being St.John's Wort, a herbal medicine commonly prescribed for depression, which is known to have an adverse effect on the action of some pharmaceutical medications.)

HOMOEOPATHY IS NOT 'PLACEBO' - IT'S NOT NECESSARY TO BELIEVE IN IT.....

Another common misconception is that Homoeopathy will only work if you believe in it. Again, not true. Millions of infants, dogs, horses, cats, koalas (to name but a few), and many an unwilling and skeptical husband (!) around the world have been successfully relieved of their complaints with homoeopathic medicines. The judicious use of correctly selected medicines provide the human (or animal body) with new 'information' so that it can heal and rebalance. Homoeopathy is 'information medicine' which goes straight to the cause of the illness or imbalance.

Most illness comes about through incorrect information being stored in the body (a bit like the hard drive of a computer). Homoeopathic medicines don't attempt to 'bandaid' the problem, so that the illness/imbalance ultimately recurs somewhere else in the body, and perhaps in a more serious way.... but instead provide new 'correct' information allowing the body to heal. As unbelievable as this may sound, millions of people around the world can attest to the effectiveness of Homoeopathic medicines. Although it is not understood EXACTLY how Homoeopathy works, we must surely understand that there are many things that science does not yet comprehend. Because some phenomena are not yet fully understood does not mean that they do not exist. Quantum science seeks to explore phenomena that quite obviously exist but cannot yet be qualified or understood by current scientific means or understanding..........
